B2HS2L, I noticed the announcement from Quantumdx the other day. That type of device , using a cartridge that contains all the reagent's for the test seems to be getting increasingly popular in the POC setting. Could It-Is-International be developing something similar ?

Porky9, a lateral flow test can only tell you covid19 is present,it doesn't distinguish between variant's. Hence a positive result requires a further sample to be sent for PCR testing. If this proves positive a genotyping test is then performed to identify which variant is present. As you say Novacyt have a bases covered.

Hillseeker ,Kaeren, I did post about the above test's a few week's . The DHSC are buying these test's through a company called Tanner Pharma .Last time I looked on Bidstats they had supplied the DHSC with approximately half a billion pounds worth. Another point worth noting Tanner Pharma are an American company with only a small operation in the UK.
