My original post was simply to open up a discussion on what we feel the SP could become upon the release of positive news.
I think we can all speculate (and enjoy) predicting what the SP will become if all the stars align. I was more interested in what we feel the SP will do in the short term on the release of positive news prior to the ‘end game’

As it’s the weekend I was reflecting on what impact positive news on BAMS and LFT will have on the SP.?
Like many, I was surprised (and a little disappointed) to see only modest SP upticks on the back of the AVA6000, Point & Astrea deals. It would suggest therefore that the market is waiting for the diagnostic updates.

Assuming that all the speculation is accurate and the consortium deal is confirmed, our S&S numbers are world leading and Bruker/Adeptrix announce major BAMS roll out..... what do we guess will be the short term impact on SP?

I’d be gutted if there wasn’t a significant increase however do we think the market might choose to wait and see revenue/margin/EBIT numbers hitting the P&L before any major re-rate of the SP?

We know we have previously been a sentiment based share and that sentiment has been tested lately, would therefore the market restore that sentiment based on good news or wait until (like NCYT) we start seeing cash hitting the bottom line?

Haven’t been able to read the whole thread but picking up on Oke’s original theory, it appears to me that the government is seeking to nationalise (or at least part nationalise) LFT/diagnostics.
Makes a lot of sense, protects ongoing supply, standardises tech, advances capability for future mutations/pandemics, the perfect ‘sovereign’ solution.
Guess therefore that the status currently is a beauty parade to discover who can (or is willing) to do what?
Don’t understand why AVCT can’t update us as to where we fit in with what seems to be, if Oke’s theory is correct, a wholly sensible approach.

If AVCT develop tests with the same urgency that DW speaks then we should have a test for Christmas

Good point DOH, it’s easy to pontificate about China when all we have done in the west is export all of our polluting bad habits to them.
It is the west that is consuming all the crap they produce....... and before anyone suggests restricting their exports, good luck with convincing the west that they no longer need their smartphones, TVs, Nike trainers etc etc.

Doesn’t appear to be any danger of demand going away anytime soon. Just need AVCT to get into the game.

Apologies if I’ve missed something but AVCT/Affimers are only mentioned in relation to Covid. There is no mention of AVCT/Affimers in the press release and the Bruker guy actually alludes to antibodies.

Hope he will be talking about testing but suspect it could be a podium session with Rishi and Williamson with updates on schools/exams and furlough/support etc. They always leak the content to the press beforehand so the BBC will have it bang on by mid pm.

As much as we’d like an announcement about testing, I think testing now sits below the radar alongside PPE, track and trace etc. The media darling is the vaccine and regardless of its limitations, the ill informed media and politicians see this as the only way out of this nightmare.

That Jon Deeks thread is insane. The MHRA are saying that the Innova test is too inaccurate to be used as an enabler, in other words don’t trust that a negative test means you are safe to visit elderly relatives etc ..... it is only to be used to pick up positive results.
Yet it is the very test that they are sending to care homes, schools etc with the very purpose of enabling pupils to go to school, lorry drivers to cross the channel etc etc based on a NEGATIVE result.

Talk about mixed messages and confusion
