I often wonder how many potentially successful drugs big pharma are sitting on that they have had to shelve due to issues that AVCT solutions could potentially unlock.
It’s sometimes difficult to comprehend where this company could go.

Regardless of whether people are encouraged to take a confirmatory PCR test, they simply won’t do it.
Mass use LFTs taken at home/work will become the norm and the behavioural shift will render PCR testing obsolete with the exception of clinical environments (and even here BAMS could be a better solution)
Very few will be prepared to book an appointment, get in their cars and drive to a test site and wait several hours/days for a result.
Accurate LFTs will make this process as outdated as driving to a blockbuster store to collect a movie.

It’s a historical perspective focussed on impractical and expensive PCR and poor quality Innova LFTs.

A inexpensive high performing easy to use AN LFT with rapid results will negate much of the criticism and provide the benefits required.

The problem you have Paul is that LFT’s are designed to identify if your staff are infectious where PCR tests are designed to identify the presence of the virus regardless of your staff’s level of infection.
In your situation it is almost certainly the PCR test that is costing you money by identifying staff as positive who are actually no longer infectious. They then have to go home, self isolate etc etc and are unavailable for work.
The soon to be launched Avacta LFT will be the gold standard for businesses such as yours.

We must also remind ourselves (been mentioned before on here) that HMG will recoup a significant amount of the cost of a sovereign test in taxation.

Every penny spent on the Innova test goes to China via California.
An AVCT test manufactured by BBI Abingdon ODX etc will see a significant proportion of the cost retained via primary and secondary taxation.
The only reason Innova sped through validation at PD and secured huge contracts is because they were the only company that rocked up with a half decent test available in sufficient volumes. DHSC didn’t have a choice, it was Innova or nothing. When they do have a choice, as Hurst says, it’s bye bye Innova.

Nothing in today’s speech or document that enables the consortium to break ranks on NDAs.

In fairness, I don’t think businesses were ever going to be given free tests in the same way they are not give free PPE etc.

Nothing to stop AVCT supplying the Spanish government with a gold standard CE marked 5min test. I guess they’d be keen to buy one?
