Not caught up with all today’s posts but skim read Wyns thread about vaccine roll out negating the need for testing.

Don’t agree, in the same way we will continue to social distance and wear masks. Testing will form part of a coordinated and ongoing strategy to keep CV (and it’s variants) under control.

It’s knocking on 20 years since 9/11 yet we still have to declare liquids, have our bags scanned, take our belts and shows off etc etc when we fly.

Vaccines will be used to provide immunity, improved therapies will lower death rates and testing will monitor prevalence.

Andrew Marr been on for 30mins and no mention of testing. The agenda is all about the vaccine

Think we have to prepare ourselves that tomorrow’s big reveal is unlikely to give any real airtime to testing.

Was thinking the same Timster. Suspect the AN test has been validated for some time and the spit test was validated in Spain last week and looks set to be validated in the UK imminently.

Perhaps the AN version is for ‘professional’ use in schools etc and the saliva version is the test that the Post office is preparing to deliver for home use ?

I don’t read anything negative into the update at all. I would guess there have been many tweaks and amendments along the way.
The only thing is this is the first time we’ve heard about one.
Nothing to see here other than the routine development process of a complex product.

After a lovely relaxing Friday night I made the schoolboy error of engaging with some Vax/Test deniers on Twitter.
Christ some people are thick, one clown was insistent that you couldn’t be infectious and asymptomatic at the same time. Another dimwit believed that an LFT would be poisonous to her children.

We often say this BB is an echo chamber but when it comes to understanding CV testing it really is. Massive job for Boris and the team to educate the great unwashed !!

Significant for me in tonight’s press other than Avacta being named for the first time is the positive connection between our test and the return to normality.

Tonight it really feels that the agenda has shifted and the Avacta LFT is now being associated with the return of all the things that the masses are waiting for.
Avacta LFTs = the return to pubs, restaurants, football, theatre’s etc etc. This is what the nation has been desperate to hear and prior to this evening this hope has all been pinned on the vaccine roll out.

Boris is now under massive pressure to maintain the positivity for the sake of the nations mental well-being. I don’t see any problems with MHRA approval and I can see Boris extolling the virtues of great British biotech .

We retain perspective and consider that the document Stifel have produced is nothing more than an educated guess.
Whoever at Stifel that has been tasked with producing the report will not be as well researched as the collective minds on this BB. We have to remain calm and trust our own research.

As we get to a seminal point in the progress of Avacta, many of us on here rely on this BB for information and educated opinions.
Your posts and the responses they elicit act not only as a deterrent to intelligent posters but generate nonsense that can lead to the missing of valued contributions.
I’m sure I speak on behalf of 99% of posters on here when I say that the time has come for you to say goodbye.
Before you retort with ‘it’s a free BB and my input is as valuable as anyone else’s’... it isn’t.
The time has arrived for you to take a long look in the mirror and reflect on the stark reality that you don’t have the intellect or vocabulary to add anything meaningful here.
My advice is that you find a hobby that is more suited to your lack of mental horsepower
