There is clearly a view in the market that further funding will be required. That is the most likely explanation for the disappointing SP reaction to the discovery of a second porphyry system. You could argue that general market sentiment is also currently poor and that could be a contributor. Why could the market take that view (of possible further funding)? Simple, it’s because this (second discovery) is essentially a NEW development and not covered within the overall scope of Phase 2. We are talking about a Phase 3 now. Colin has a conundrum though. He hasn’t had the benefit of a good rise in the SP to get another raise away at a higher price (the last one was 5.6p). So he has to have - he MUST have some good news flow to come in terms of drills and assays.
I might be wrong here but I don’t think so. Things have now changed dramatically, and much for the better I might add - but ‘Ascot’ is a new Beast which cannot be ignored and is not covered under Phase 2.
What does all this mean for investors? More patience I’m afraid if you want to stick around for the pay off. The wildcard is a deal suddenly sprung out of thin air with a major.
