Volume remains low so there is no (significant) selling but by the same token no interest either.

As has been mentioned elsewhere the sector is totally out of favour with the exception of Cornish Metals which has had a very very good run. One of those ones that I have on my watchlist and have ‘watched’ it go up and up. Missed that one grrrr

Not arguing with you but there are a number of snapshots in time you can take but ultimately it will come down to market sentiment (provided fundamentals are promising enough of course)
Market sentiment currently is very poor. Sentiment in PM sector is very poor but will not stay like that. In a bull run everything will go up to a certain degree or another.

Doing the maths from todays announcement regarding a reduction in production guidance:

Worst case scenario - down from 65k ozs to 55k ozs that’s 15% reduction
Best case scenario - down from 60k ozs to 57k ozs that’s just 5% reduction

The SP is down 23%. That is clearly a typical market overshoot in terms of reaction. I was already thinking Shanta was starting to look decent value before todays news.

I can’t see how Omicron has had any time to delay things yet? I think it more likely it is the novel ‘De Novo’ effect. Whatever, I am holding firm. The markets just treading water now waiting although looks like an orders just been filled with the tick up.

By my very rough calculation as of cop yesterday RM had spent approx £7.5m of the £200m allotted to the share buyback scheme. Which is about 3.75% of the total amount.

A good two weeks now since the last assay results. This is not what we were told to expect. Small wonder there’s little interest. I do hope Colin isn’t holding results back. In any case, hypothetically, this wouldn’t work because at some point you have to release them. I hope I am wrong and it is simply that the assay labs are up to their necks in it. But that said weren’t we told we had one lab working exclusively on our stuff?

I know PM’s are currently unloved and POLY in particular has underperformed. No doubt this is partly due to the Russian effect and possibly the geopolitical tensions over Ukraine? USA has threatened severe sanctions if Russia invades Ukraine. Those sanctions might include the ability to convert rubles to dollars. What do others think? Not a deramp - looking for genuine balanced debate.

Well done Trek. I noted your comment on this stock on another board and am researching with a view toward adding this as an income stock. Btw I think the USD is a basket case going forward. Just how far forward I don’t know but it’s a declining power.

And the dreaded SP consolidation I see too.... hmmm in all my years of experience of AIM investing SP consolidations VERY rarely work for shareholders... they just buy more time for failing management. I don't see this being any different.

Thanks captainbob that is my understanding too that we will not be going through the rigmarole of feasibility studies. They can take a LONG time!

jackie1 - agreed. The 11.5 trades were buys. Not that it will matter a jot come 8am on monday morning!

howezap - when you say an ‘appropriate’ feasibility study what do you mean? A PFS I assume. The thing is a PFS is going to be expensive and drawn out. I haven’t heard Colin mention such a strategy and therefore I presume he doesn’t think it should necessary to attract an offer. The impression he has given me is we just need to firm up the resource.

I’ve noticed, for weeks now, someone is picking up 200-300k shares at a time that are printed later. It’s not a hugely big deal I suppose and whoever is doing it is certainly managing to accumulate without pushing the price up at all! It’s just interesting to note. It could be somebody on these boards, maybe not. But the pattern is such that I am fairly confident it’s the same individual doing it. With the SP languishing somewhat it is somewhat comforting to see someone else has faith!

Cauldstream - yes the doomsters are very active here and forecasting the worst possible outcome on…. well everything really! I take the view that the potential downside from here is limited - not impossible of course - but limited. We may in fact be near or at the bottom now. When sentiment on a BB is at rock bottom that can be a useful pointer in that regard.

As regards the CLN’s no doubt they will cobble together some kind of a solution. If my research is correct it appears they have substantially more than £700k in the bank currently. So I assume that they could choose to pay it off subject to the liquidity being in place. But as I say no doubt it will be sorted without any hysteria. At least then poor suffering ALB will be able to sleep at night.

No. Look I’m prepared to accept an offer which CB accepts as I believe he has the best idea of what it’s worth. So if CB, hypothetically, accepted an offer valuing Bushranger or Racecourse at say 25p, I’d take it. CB has already laughed 10p out the house. I’d like to know what he thinks of your 15p!!

Slightly off topic but still relevant most holders here will be aware that our esteemed leader holds the same position as in this company at the rapidly developing Jubilee Metals (formerly known as Jubilee Platinum). JLP have released some impressive financial results today against a backdrop of the pandemic etc. CB has had a long standing integral involvement in this company that I have followed for years, some that were fallow. So JLP alone is evidence that CB can deliver although at an executive and operational level I’m sure he’d concede Leon Coetzer has been at the forefront. CB’s Review statement is def worth a read for those with an interest here, if nothing else to bolster any dipping levels of confidence in our leader!

Agreed. Best description of latest results is ‘solid’ and consistent. It seems they are trying to pinpoint the more mineralised ‘halo’ of the second porphyry system to the south?

Share goes ex-div today so in theory a drop of less than the sum total of the proposed dividend (total 27p approx) would effectively be an ‘up’ day
