Dontgive, if what s/he says is true (that they emailed eve regarding the problem) then they didn’t use to on-line form which, in my case, received a response in just a couple of hours. There's the option to mark the query as a 'complaint' which I did and which probably bumps it up the list. The warranty claim form is different. Anyway, if I didn’t get an answer after a couple of days I would try again rather than leave two weeks. Maybe the fault was indeed a warranty issue and his mattress is several years old; the review doesn’t say what the fault was.

I bought a battery from an on-line shop last week. I had a query so I used their online form. I think that people should expect an online form with an online shop. If I expected a phone number I’d go to John Lewis and pay a bit more. Having said that, if you’ve ever called John Lewis, its a dreadful system!! With phone calls you can also get into a “he said / she said” situation, which is never good. Best to have things in writing.

Anyway, not a big deal. Just different opinions.

If we don’t get a TU next week then January TU is a definite so I personally am not too worried. It would just imply that Black Friday sales were neither better nor worse than expected. Could it be that only we here on this BB were expecting news today? We are not that many. Last year’s TU was the first and was actually announcing the January detailed figures but took the opportunity to blow their trumpet about Black Friday.

If we do get an RNS before Xmas it might simply be to give us the date for January – no more detail than a date – and that will (imo) support the sp till January.

Here is a line from December 3, 2020 (last year):

I'm on the UK Biobank study and they sent me an ABC test from ABDX after my first jab. Test was negative for antibodies. Instructions said not to be surprised or worried at that.

Govt are refusing to pay for the test.

GearForMusic G4M has been mentioned here in discussions before now. It's a bit like eve in that it's an online retailer. I notice this in their update today:
'We are also pleased to report our systems and supply chain operations have performed well over the busy Black Friday and Cyber Monday period, and we continue to be confident that our full year financial results will be in line with the recently revised consensus market expectations*.'

Might bode well for eve too; no collapse in people buying online.

My take would be that they would probably RNS strong sales. They'd be proud and want to tell all.

Quiet / nothing from them would imply 'expected sales', so not necessarily bad news.

Could even be next week with the day difference compared to 2020.

People don't go to eve sleep.com for these small items. They are add-ons to the basket at the end of the bed frame, duvet, pillow or mattress order. That they are out of stock rather implies that people have been buying bigger items first.

My pillow order finally arrived today so I did write to Customer Services to thank them for sorting the glitch, but said I wouldn't expect a reply as I imagine they are busy with Black Friday orders. Can't imagine they will come back with a clue but who knows..

Could be that the people selling have taken the gamble that there won't be news before January TU. Last December 3 TU could have been a one-off and we won't get one this year as sales are close enough to as-predicted.

If there is a good TU in December it could mean that the sp rises with a bit more vigour as people clamber back. When eve announced in 2020 that sales were doing well in lockdown the sp rose to over 6p in a matter of several weeks.

Will there be a semi-surprise TU?

Trustpilot reviews are actually running a tad lower now than a year ago. Last November there were 600 reviews and as I write we have 207. That said, Black Friday was a day earlier last year and we could get a great December instead.

Web traffic to the eve site has not been much higher than in the same months of 2020, and there could be some stock shortages now, which is unfortunate.

On the plus, they said they have invested in building up more stock so if they've run out of some products it could be a mixture of strong sales and then problems restocking. CC said that Argos is very important to eve and Argos would not necessarily show up in web traffic to the eve site but traffic to Argos site instead. Same with reviews as people might leave reviews at Argos but not necessarily as often as people who buy at eve sleep.co.uk

We are expecting some response to the increase in marketing spend in France. How much? is the unknown.

There hasn't (to my knowledge) been very much advertising of eve in the UK recently.

I'm going to guess (I do hope I'm wrong) that it'll be January before the next TU.

Around a year ago I sold my shares in Future PLC to put into eve. I hope eve perks up soon as I've missed out on Future doubling since last year. Having said that I also sold Easy Jet and they are down 67% since then.

If there's no December update and the sp slides more it'll be hard for me to resist buying a few more eve's..

Weird thing is they dropped the price of the weighted blanket for Black Friday yet it's been out of stock for a few weeks. It went from £199 to £159. Marketing going on, so people will have to buy full price soon?
I see the £14 scented candles are now out of stock today, as is the door handle pocket. I guess it's good news that whatever they predicted they'd sell has gone and not sitting in a warehouse.

It's tricky to distinguish Which? reviews from the paid-for advertising as most adverts refer to Which? as part of the 'sell'.

Which?' has a core readership / membership but the influence of Which? goes far beyond those members.

I guess Which? will review again in due course but may not do it until the range of available mattresses is very different to what was available last time. Most mattresses 'run' for a few years I should think. They seem to carry on with original models while new variants emerge to broaden the range.

Eve will quote their premium hybrid as 'Which? Best Mattress 2020' till either they win another award or it becomes too embarrassing.

Winning Which? awards must be a top priority for all the manufacturers and something they will strive to achieve. I know that good / bad reviews of HiFi can 'make' or 'break' a model or range and journalist come under a lot of pressure when testing.

I noticed this review on the avis-verifies site. Here's the google translation. Bit hard to believe it was a 'proper' delivery driver; maybe they are using freelancers as they are busy? (Wishful thinking :) Or maybe the bedroom was above the second-floor limit. Mattress already dipping after a month (yeah, right; sure sign of a revenge-review imo) and pillows certainly are not of 'poor quality' even though they may not suit everyone's taste.

'The mattress seems to be of good quality even if after a month of use we already detect a certain shape of the mattress ... what will happen in 5 years? ... big unknown. The pillows are clearly of bad quality, and I let the 30 days pass to return them, too bad for me. But the worst is the delivery, a real horror! Delivery requested in the bedroom upstairs of the house. The delivery truck arrives and leaves the mattress in front of the gate of the house, outside! I get out of it by giving 20 € in cash to the delivery man who had to beg for him to agree to put up the mattress. Needless to say, he did not unpack the mattress or win the packaging as EVE likes to say on the site when ordering. Huge disappointment for this point, and which could embarrass people, the mattress weighing 50 kg, not everyone is able to carry it alone, and especially why say that the mattress will be delivered in the room of his choice and unwrapped if it's a lie? ...'

I '99%' believe the stories of goods damaged in transit. The people 'Mattress never arrived' who 'hired a van'; more like they were out as it wasn't somewhere they were actually living in and weren't there for the delivery. However, I do think a lot of people who complain regarding quality 'try it on' a bit (or a lot). Like the guy complaining of having to pay to send back. I checked and you get free collection within 100 days and he did on his mattress, but he couldn't return the mattress protector after 30 days.. So he was dissatisfied with everything he bought, and was cross that he'd paid to have his old mattress removed. This is part of the eve reply: 'In terms of our refunds, we will always refund all money spent on our products, however any fees relating to old mattress collection or small parcel delivery cannot be refunded as these services will already have been provided.'

And he's the guy who complains about cold Deliveroo food too when I suspect he lives in a slightly isolated place.

I was outside Lidl yesterday and a woman called her husband to tell him to take their £8 wreaths back to the garden centre ("you do have the receipt?") as she'd found Lidl's were less than half the price. Some people might buy eve at full price and then see a better discount at Emma or Simba – or eve in the sale. I'm sure people must be tempted.

If there was much of a quality problem there'd be people writing that their mattress sagged, an inspector came out and then eve replaced the mattress as it was faulty.

We ourselves have an Original from 2018 and it hasn't sagged. We are average weight people and maybe people of heavier weight have a problem. (Having said that a neighbour of ours who was heavy had a lot of trouble with cycles as the saddle columns gave way.)

I've even seen some TP complaints of sagging within a few months /weeks. I think that is just 'revenge reviewing'. For me the give away is that the complaints are very strong ("I'll never buy from this terrible company again" etc.) rather than the 'well, I was a bit surprised that it seemed less flat than when it came 3 years ago. It's definitely got a bit of a sag now'. I might believe that type of review.

With Black Friday being a later date this year (ie Nov 26 rather than 25th) we won't get quite so many reviews written before month end; December should get a boost though with the delay.

Why don't you start a Trustpilot page for AffiDX now? You would have the advantage over the competition as I can only find a fairly short list of testing companies (see below) and they seem to offer PCR tests.

A lot of domestic and professional consumers go to Trustpilot for information and reviewers who say that AffiDX is *the best* LFT will influence others.

Some people with businesses have already bought AffiDX for professional use. I've read of their experiences on bulletin boards. They could start to post immediately and get the ball rolling.
