I did take an ABC test a long time ago, part of the UK Biobank survey.

Blackcat, it's Sujood's 'bedside manner' that's so appealing to many here. He says the right things, the things people want to hear; after all, this is important life-changing stuff. On the other hand 'medics' who tell it like it is get vilified.

If you were under medical attention would you rather an incompetent Doc who makes you feel good even though he / should be struck off, or one who tells it as it is?

Most people here would prefer the former, hence the high number of Recs Sujood receives.

(And no I'm not saying AVCT needs medical attention. It's just that 'bedside manner' works best there.)

Woke up to a ping from Test and Trace this morning.

Had to book in a PCR test (just returned from that) and the app also asked if I'd like to take an antibody test. They didn't give it to me at the PCR testing centre so I guess it'll arrive in the post. Must be the ABC test? If they are still being handed out by the NHS then I guess ABDX must know they'll get paid in full.

I’m not sure when it first became a facility but eve now do Klarna (0% over three month) and interest free credit payments over longer periods on, I think, many of their goods. It must help a lot of people choose eve.

And yes, if bricks and mortar shopping becomes a little bit more tricky it’s bound to help the online sellers again .

Total TP reviews from the past 12 months (2021) = today 2,993

Total reviews from the previous past 12 months (2020) = 3000, so we should fairly easily beat that total, & probably today, but first couple of months in 2020 were pre-pandemic, then it went quiet for a couple of months before the extra sales all began to kick-in.

To get to last year's combined November / December total we need over 600 TP reviews in December. We are headed towards 400 in December and that's a substantial shortfall. They say that this year's BF weekend was extended and slightly busier than last year. I'm guessing that they are busier through Argos and other outlets (so the reviews don't end up on eve sleep.co.uk TP site but at argos.com instead) and / or people are buying more of the smaller stuff such as gifts and not giving reviews as often as they would on a mattress or bed frame.

As for January TU I'm again guessing that France will be a bit disappointing (as that's what they announced) and that they will decide to 'maintain' France rather than spend a great deal £s / €s more there when it didn't come off as they'd hoped; try and grow it more cheaply instead with affiliates and the Olivier Desforges chain.

I imagine that cash will be 'up' as they need to spend a bit less to deliver the profit; she won't want to let us down there. They can't just do that at the very last minute in 2020 Q4.

I expect they will announce a marketing push on Channel 4.

As Wyn said, higher materials' costs. That said, materials are not the only cost in making a product so are probably manageable if the sales are rising.

Not good for the high street but if people say at home and have cash to spend, as they miss out on holidays and parties again, they may again spend it on the bedroom this winter.

Tim ('thats the numpty citizens of the UK for you...') but I remember several people on this BB ordering them and throwing them away – boasting and being proud – then getting Recs for their idiocy.

Hoarding them (even if AffyDX would be far better but unavailable) seems much more sensible in comparison, when school kids are required to take two a week, and everyone else should be testing as well.

Many thanks for that wyn. I know you follow Boo closely but I only occasionally read the BB myself. It does look to be a bit of a bargain but not if it has further to fall. And no spare cash with me for a while now. Certainly worth following now and I can see there'll be time to get in later if things perk up.

You do well with your money discipline. As I'm not very good on picking times to get out I've rather decided to stick with everything so as not to get out on the one stock that then goes on to do well (and be left with the real duds..)

I just listened to a BBC radio 4 news piece on where people are going to sleep this Christmas, so plenty of trending pictures of people’s bedrooms in their childhood homes – which they temporarily move back into (or of deflating airbeds in the kitchen etc.).

I would prefer a takeover than going private. Takeover would raise the share price.

I fully agree that recent Director buys have NOT been 'token' in any way. They see value and must be as disappointed as us that the SP has not held up. The market is pretty ruthless. But I have seen posts here and elsewhere asking for 'token' Director buys to hold up the SP in the past. It's just not something that works and would just cost the Director their hard earned cash – not that they do it.

Looking at some of the chunky sells in the past it was clear that someone (or more than one) wanted to be out of eve even before the TU. Equally, someone was buying chunks before the TU. They must see value. We are the patient ones..

I think I will probably bring this up if anyone asks for Directors to make a token buy to help the SP in the future. Directors should only buy if they see value, like us, as the 'token' only lasts a couple of days. The SP will rally when eve shows a profit or shows very close to a profit: 'next year' profit makes people go elsewhere for the interim, knowing there's plenty of time to come back (not like us buy-and-holders!)

Looks like he bought on the CBD spike. Probably had not heard of eve before and jumped in at 6p / 7p / 8p.

December is still an important month for eve so the figures could still change between the recent TU and the full figures on a date to be decided, in January.

I guess we should also hear of their plans for Channel 4 advertising then too. It's almost inconceivable they won't advertise on 4 when they have the discount and C4 also have an interest in eve.
