it has been an education on the AIM mechanism .....and if you take emotion out of it - it is a pretty amazing story on how a company spectacularly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. who does not want to see where it will end?. ....will it rise like a pheonix......die a slow death or drop of ff the edge of the world?

besides this board is comedy gold - people who contract for the nhs but haven't got a clue how to read an rns whilst maintaining they are happy with their long term investment as the odx discard the portfolo and the sp crashes....posters who show no research or knowledge of the company but can quote other posters words from a year ago.....choo choo merchants.....angry red faced gammon with high blood pressure who get wound up and attack their keyboard by any logical post criticising the company which lost them shed loads.

kate - with all respect - you don't do yourself any favours by your constant hounding of posters. you have obviously both got to the point of winding each other up with every post. You have done the same to me but i dont bear grudges or give a hoot what anybody thinks. so it is water off a ducks back.

is he right in some of his comments on you? i am afraid i agree. nobody stopped you selling at 50p..if you had wanted to you could have persisted - smaller chunks or when it dropped slightly lower. just because you could not sell at 50p does not mean you could not have sold at 48p etc

averaging down - well even your latest purchases are probably at a loss..making even more of a loss...so you have to ask yourself what will you gain? could the money have been better invested? i can understand not wanting to "lose" on odx....but might not it have been easier to make money or another stock. there are also really enough valid concerns on the future on ODX

not having lost money because you haven't sold - well i always look that the value of your cash is what you can raise immediately. i have £8k invested in evraz which is currently suspended..if the war ends it could be x10 but currently i count it as zero as i cant access it - and also could lose the lot if something awful and drastic happened

I don't think anyone wants odx to burn to the ground...there are ordinary people who have a job there . No one has indicated they want existing shareholders to lose money either.

I don't think many would lose sleep if the current bod were replaced. But that is a different matter. Other directors would have taken that vote as a sign to go. A change of bod might actually attract new investors. As currently the number of trades

i am not so sure of that. a real humdinger one like the first dhsc yes...but not every contract they do would be rns worthy.
i do agree the dhsc will be news that comes on its own rns - they would not be able to coincide it with their presentation.
since they can't disclose anything meaningful - i suspect another "we believe we have a strong case" type update

the real thing is their forward strategy and confirmation that covid revenue is continuing hopefully at least in align with their prediction or hopefully better.

I think will much depend on how much substance DA can bring - another word salad of key buzz words is not going to cut it

i always felt that bumbling mumbling colin was pretty decent bloke just out of his depth.....i am not convinced on the decency of the rest judging by their actions (selling shares and the whole when is a placing not a needed placing fiasco)

the promises of better shareholder communication have not really materialised. i suspect that existing shareholders have no idea of what direction the company is currently moving in - though many do seem happy with the silence is golden and must mean something brewing evaluation

don't have to say anything on ncyt - they have £100m war chest and are owed money by dhsc - opposite to here really

I would not be surprised if ODX do not get CTDA approval tomorrow - despite our resident genius stating that CTDA approvals are usually on a thursday - as firstly they can appear any day but secondly ODX have given up on the CTDA anyway

That was a worry of mine..bit of a sell off and a reasonable update leaving us where we have been stalling for ages.

Personally I think there will be a better than reasonable update...there does seem a lot of activity in the background and if some of the dots get connected right - who knows.

If it drops to £2 then if were bio I would be buying more...a good update and they will be paying a premium.

The gov contract seemed a banker. The issue was what they were going to do with the other half of the 2m capacity per week etc. The dreams of high price private contracts was jam.

The directors selling was a huge red flag but personally I made excuses for it. Denial.

They then kept us roped in by telling us by tweets that busy busy busy...big things coming etc...we now know that was not true..or if it were it was not paying the company anything..prob Colin's delivery of sausage rolls and buckfast

Big launch in may was a joke it seems....the Tesla tweet was an insult...and I now felt really uncomfortable as it was clear the company did not have sh best interests at heart.....but the gov contract must surely be kicking in soon?

In Nov...the truth came out...they did not not even realise gov contract had to expired...still...we had waited so long..CE mark etc must be just around the corner.

The danger with odx has always been assuming that something was going on in the background...news around the corner..etc

We now know CE mark meant nothing...they already had given up. Still not sure how much has been down to incompetence ...however they did show very good competence at selling up their free shares at the highest point

Been a very good learning lesson...I still follow as I suspect more learning to be got. You invest in the bod and CEO as much as the portfolio

byp - i guess the £12 was based on sentiment with a gov contract in the middle of a pandemic. Unfortunately the gov contract dispute has hammered the share since. I don't know if ncyt has the ability to climb to those lofty heights again but i do feel there is good potential at this price

i am invested because out of the diagnostic companies around - NCYT has shown they can be nimble and act in a way to profit from extenuating circumstances. they have done it with covid and i suspect what they have learnt will stand them in good stead for any future pandemics etc. they should still have the ability to generate income from covid this year

they have a war chest which could be used to great good and a fighting chance of increasing it if the gov dispute goes their way.
i agree with your reflection on DA and he did not impress me in the slightest with his youtube interview. however i am willing to give him until the end of this month to see if actions speak louder than words.

the fact that bio are hovering in the background and increasing their stake - albeit slowly shows that it peers see value as well.

normally i would agree that the easier thing would be to sell the gear cheaply to OG. however with more spotlight on the gov with the shabby way they treated uk diagnostics - not sure if they dare?

personally i think you should not hold your breath waiting for bod purchases. They were happy to issue free options and cash in at 90p but have never shown any interest in buying other than as a "sweetner" in trying to get placing through.
if they can't see value at this price - it does not look good i am afraid.

the gov contract was available on the internet and laid out all the conditions. the pre production payment was only for phase 1 work. i did read through it and found it seemed to be fairly heavily weighted in the govs favour

my suspicion is that a lot of the money spent by odx was increasing the workforce at alva in preparation for the start of phase 2 - as there were penalties if they could not deliver product on time. it was a difficult position to be in because they had to be ready for the get go but at the same time phase 2 expenses were not covered in the pre production payment clauses the contract. it also could not be used for improving the premises or staff for non gov contract work. I suspect odx made a boo boo here by hugely increasing the work force - of which they proudly told us - which tbh ultimately probably lost them alva. since odx never produced anything for the gov - i suspect it will be fairly limited in what they can actually claim as justified expenses. my guess is that they will have to pay some if not all back.

i am not saying odx dont have a moral argument and a case in the spirit of the law - but unfortunately a contract is a contract. the fact that they did not understand it - including the expiry date - is not an excuse

the gov wasted a lot of money with covid - PPE from chinese and turkish companies etc which they will never get back. now that the gov are under scrutiny i suspect the uk firms will get a tough time as the gov want to be seen as doing the right thing and clawing back cash when they can.

the only good thing is that i suspect the bureaucratic cogs will take a lot of time....giving them time to sort the business out if they are able to. though that does seem a big ask at the moment
