Kate - if odx are out of the covid game as they reported it isn't going to matter. That ship has sailed. I would not be surprised if they don't keep the CE mark - since we have had no update on the necessary data being submitted on time . If they did submit then as usual it is treating the shareholders with contempt by not informing them.

If variants do get worse and people need to go back to regular testing for work and college etc .. then I can see the gov being forced to issue free tests again. Though I suppose they could argue that a £10 a week is bearable for Pepe's. Now prices are rock bottom.

I suspect it was 12 months for pro use. The issue is that dam will still need self test lft from someone. Once they have that organised they may be some minimal orders for pro use but certainly no continuation of the contract past December.

The pro use of lft has always been a bit of an issue for me. The beauty is in self test ability. Going forward I can't see such a market for pro use anyway.

Kate ..what we don't know is how long the contract is for pro use...and what sort of numbers they need. I suspect the contract ends in December ..would be about a year and make sense of odx covering themselves until Dec.

Dam can buy self test fro whoever they like as there was no contract with odx. Unfortunately if they were to walk in the old factory they would be greeted by of who would no doubt love to sell them tests

Kate - personally I think dam have their own problems at the moment. They have property in prime locations in UK..well London at least.

They were prob really struggling until the recent surge and possibility in private sales to replace free gov tests. However I can't see how they will find it easy to compete with hight Street retailers like boots at £10 for 7 tests.

I am sorry but I don't see them buying odx. Not for food intolerance tests that they could buy off them

Kate - I read it that they are not expecting any revenue (contribution) from covid tests.

Which kind of scuppered any hopes of a covid test sales strategy. I suspect they had the fail safe of Dec in case dam ordered more tests.

However I can't see dam getting tests from odx ..when they can get orient gene tests from the same factory ...probably cheaper and able to use in UK. We have not be notified of any further dam orders so I suspect it won't be needed. Does not sound that even though they have ce mark that they are actively pursuing sales in Europe either.

They had CE mark however needed to submit more data by 31/3/22. This is what has confused reggie i suspect. though clearly says no CTDA registration for self test without which they can't sell in uk. i suspect reg will disappear on a gold command call...lol

Maybe they did submit on time and decided not to tell us. however there is a very clear footnote on that RNS that covid is over as a strategy.

They can't sell in uk as they have scrapped their CTDA application.

and how is this policed in reality ? ncyt have a party buying aggressively. nothing formal yet but suddenly the management and secretaries are buying. those who resrarched know what is happening but with no formal offer the directors are free to buy

my suspicion is that at odx they would somehow offer themselves free options.

100k shares is really not a lot - i know it might seem so compared to what the bod are willing to invest with their own money in the company they run to pay their wages - but it really isn't

if anyone had say 3% it would need to be declared..so there is absolutely no sign of a hostile takeover. I suspect it might not be the best interests of the current bod to assist in a takeover as they would find themselves immediately out of a job. going on past performance they probably would struggle to find another similar position - or at least one would hope?

anyway...enjoy the blue whatever the reason- it is good to see. personally i would be looking to possibly bank some gains because if there is no real substance this could well drop again.
i think more is made on AIm these days by nimble trading than holding for gold unfortunately

anthony - 100k is equivalent to £5k. since i had 150,000 at i think of an average of 70-80p .(.i am sure kate will correct me if i am wrong - memory is not so great these days). it is not what i consider a chunky buy. and i am sure there were those who sunk and lost a lot more than i did

caley - if you look at the chart section on odx - it gives volumes with time

? 20 trades currently on lse - OK it is 15 min behind but that is very low volume

BDD - the trouble is that it is a big rise on a very small volume...
i still think the liquidity had dried up - people who were still in not willing to sell and nobody interested in buying ..until yesterday when apparently it was going to NT on very small amounts. this might have been the catalyst for some to speculate that it had reached reached rock bottom and so the only way was up....when the MMs finally decided to enable a market a small volume produced a relatively large SP jump.....which then fueled more buying?

i am sure many are dreaming of a takeover - and a few happy to perpetuate a rumour. however i have not seen any substance to suggest it....such as another party starting to accymulate shares?

Urraca...you make a very good point and something that has been really worrying me. I am in two minds over sanctions as I can see the potential benefit to ending the war earlier but also the long term damage.

I am not sure it is right to expect the west to come to the aid of any country in the world however it might seem the right thing to do. Especially when it weakens it in terms of its enemies elsewhere in the world. It is a very difficult one. Unfortunately the day Ukraine chose to give up its nukes set the scene for this in many ways

Byp..a lot of russian gas is used in the production of electricity. So more than likely by turning on the kettle/lights it is directly contributing to the £800m a day that Russia gets for its gas exports to Europe. Regardless of whether a person knows where it is being sourced from or not

I would argue that is more directly funding the war than trading shares. If you buy a share that money is not going into cash to fund the war.

The companies producing gold etc are doing so regardless of what the share value is on a foreign exchange. Has any share suspension stopped activity?

Byp..you could argue that anyone boiling a kettle in Germany / Italy /turkey is helping fund the war much more than any stock trading

Shares and ethics is an interesting puzzle. It caused me a few dilemmas being involved in covid testing companies. Wanting them to do well v wanting the pandemic over.

Russia has £140b in gold safely stored in Russia so I can't see how sanctions against poly would make much difference. Even if they suspended them like evraz it would not stop production

I suspect what she was trying to get at is stronger sanctions against Russia being able to use gold as currency to buy things it needs...though hard to stop trade with China in reality

If they want to hit Russia in the pocket then Europe stopping to buy russian gas is the obvious move ..but they can't .

The reality is that we ate going to soon find out that these sanctions are going to hit the west just as much as Russia. However I suspect the Russians are probably able to cope with hard times a bit better than a soft west.

The war needs to be ended quickly to save lives on both sides. I am not sure that giving the Ukrainians the means to continue a proxy war is doing anybody any good..except the Chinese.
