Dr. Martens Share Price (DOCS)

Worth noting that on market turnover yesterday which we see c161.000 shares, but including off-market trades ie private trades between institutions or market makers it was 3,134,242. Its been this way for a while.....and since results on May 19, daily value of trades has outstripped previous periods with roughly £1m of value being traded daily. Trade volumes are also trending higher

We’re in complete agreement. The steady retrace of Docs share price tells me that the story the CEO has been telling on follow up calls to institutional shareholders is going down well. The market’s assessment of DOC will be heavily dependent imo on showing that they can drive the top-line and maintain pricing discipline. After a couple of years in intensive care, and slow rehabilitation the patient is well on the road to recovery. Like you I can see real potential for this re rating strongly; the CEO is no mug, and will be acutely aware of the value of the brand. If I were VF( they own Timberland or Birkenstocks or a PE mega fund DM is an attractive target. Permira who were responsible for the original sin of underinvesting & grossly hyping the value still retain a huge stake, so have every incentive to support the team in driving the change needed. However, theirs is not a long term holding imo and at some point they will either want to dilute their holding or engineer an exit. This has much further to run even if marco backfldrop remains difficult

Thanks all for some really interesting insights, which confirm how little I still know about Docs atm. One of the pleasures of these sites is hearing views on a share where investors know what they’re talking about.
