Bankers Investment Trust Share Price (BNKR)

Let's hope it starts performing. I wish I had just put what I invested here into JGGI instead which I also own.

I feel a lot of these UK market trusts nowadays are becoming pointless, with ETF's taking over. These old school managers and all their hangers on need to make it look like they are doing something to appease shareholders fed up with poor performance and historically massive discounts. If the whole thing got wound up tomorrow and I got my 125p per share I would be ecstatic, but like most I am unwilling to sell at such a poor market value - something has to change soon.

Overall, quite happy with the portfolio rationalisation, from 160 or so stocks to 112 at Oct 31. Maybe the US loading could be a bit higher than the 50% (round figures) and Europe/UK lower than the 26% or so, given dysfunctional governments and damaging polices in some of those countries, though most of the companies do trade internationally. No Nvidia in the US but the managers have said they believe Broadcom will work out well, and good on them for fronting up on that. There are 50-dd stocks in the stg9 to stg1m range for total value of say stg320-stg350m. I'd like to see that cut to say 30 of the managers' best ideas, and the balance of funds put into the mid-top tier. Still reasonable value at the discount, and dividend champion status lives on. Nov 30 Factsheet will be interesting reading, post-US election.

Any thoughts, anyone, on how the reduction in the number of share holdings is going, still more than 160 holdings at July 31, looks a bit slow, still a lot of very small holdings not adding value; they had said earlier the consolidation should be completed by end of October.

I have started buying shares here because of the discount. I regard a discount of over 10% here as a temporary aberration which will eventually be corrected. Of course, "eventually" might take a while, but I am prepared to be patient. Bankers has a very good long term record and is run quite conservatively which I like.

I have held this trust (unfortunately) for a number of years now. The discount has widened significantly to 10-13%%

This used to run around par for many many years. It is underperforming it's benchmark and nothing seems to happen.

Alex Crooke needs to get a grip and sort this trust out or the Chairman needs to start earning his keep.

Look at JGGI with a better dividend and running on a small premium!
