Following completion of the restructuring at the end of 2007, the old Eurotunnel holding companies (Eurotunnel PLC and Eurotunnel SA) changed their name to TNU PLC and TNU SA respectively to avoid confusion with the company that was now taking the group forward, Groupe Eurotunnel. 7 years ago, the group sought to simplify its structure. TNU PLC and TNU SA shares were destapled so that TNU SA could merge with Groupe Eurotunnel SA. Following that transaction, TNU SA had disappeared and TNU PLC ceased to exist on 1 November 2010 as a result of the cross-border merger of TNU PLC (ex-Eurotunnel PLC) into Groupe Eurotunnel. I was given 500 shares in 1988 in Eurotunnel. For a number years they were pretty worthless, other than the free travel allowance on Eurotunnel once a year for 10 years. In 2007 Eurotunnel merged with tnu sa and around 2010 Tnu plc merged to make Groupe Eurotunnel se. I was paid off by the new consortium on the basis of not having enough shares and was paid the pricely sum of £9.34 in total. A lot of original shareholders in Eurotunnel lost out of even receiving the basis payout as they failed to register their interest in 2007. No regress. In my case the free travel exceeded the value of the original share purchase- so cannot grumble. Good luck with your investments.
