Tesla's boomed when they hit Dubai, every local and his Lion wanted one. They opened a prime real estate location on the Sheikh Zayed Road. Within 6 months (no joke) that prime time location had shut down, reopened far smaller in a sh itty location as the locals (and expats) who bought that trash started selling them on.
They're now only used by Emirates First chauffeur services and the odd Lebanese tit who has one on finance. Safe to say the fad waned very quickly.
I know a guy that bought a Tesla after selling his company. He returned it due to very poor build quality.
By move on I can only presume you mean into upsizing the car as you got twins on the way or bills to pay, or indeed would prefer to be in cash? Good luck with it bud :)
I see no better investment case (across all major world indices) than SLP over the next 2 years.
I'll sell mine at £2.35 :)
Aye good luck @nutmeg.
I will stay the course for a while longer.
Hefty buy at 16:38 359266 shares at 105.9 - not me :-)
Good luck in future investments
Sold today at 102.15p made a good profit and am happy ...SLP is a great share just time for me to move on ... GL all
all true and all good points. And then you test drive a tesla and it is so much better than other cars that you go and buy one. And then you enjoy it every single minute. So advice - don't test drive one because all the nice logical reasons go out the window
Ranges of EVs are quoted for an average speed at 45mph. If one drives motorway speeds, it nearly halves.
Peugeot has a nice range calculator online.
Certainly not going to be popular with those doing high annual mileages.
Petrol or diesel vehicles should reliably cover 150,000 miles. With proper care, 250,000 miles should be achievable.
A petrol or diesel car typically has a 400-500 mile range and refuelling will take 5 minutes, and if you keep a can in the boot you can push on for another 30 miles if you misjudge things.
An IC car should also last at least 15 years
An EV will be unlikely to exceed 400 miles range and it's usable life is likely to be determined by number of battery discharge cycles.
The EV experience will be like driving an IC car with a tattered timing belt - just waiting to grind to a halt with a £5-20k repair bill.
All IMHO
Yes I forgot the main one Rhodium RHODIUM USD/OZ 14500.00 :) love the pun!
Hi Nutmeg
You want to keep an eye on the Rhodium price, since that's the catalyst (pun intended) for the share price.
Metals moving up Platinum: 1037.00 +5.00? Palladium: 1972.00 +5.00? .....guess I will add some more this moring!
"and claims it can take up to 9 YEARS of driving before they become greener!"
Yes, but the battery is unlikely to last 9 years, and the cost of replacing the battery of an EV would be more than the value of the car. So likely the car will be scrapped. How green is that??
loved this when I was a kid ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS358WbnS_k
sorry prediction lol
my perdition ... a drop in early morning to try to skakeout the weak ... then upwards over 100p ..... thats what the chat says to me!
Thanks twirl .. so 90p ... what happens at 90p ?
slp is a traders share. No news imminent so sell it down to 90p - according to the chart.
I will never buy a battery car or EV the risk to environment is greater ......Volvo says, emissions from making EVs can be 70% higher than petrol models - and claims it can take up to 9 YEARS of driving before they become greener!
I sold my BMN but still hold Invinity - use their batteries please :-)
Can't see any reason for the drop ... just market games ... metals are going up .... Stoodio said he would not sell till 200p :)
I've been busy last few days so haven't been keeping tabs here.
Just checked in and surprised to see this back below 100. ......Any thoughts?
Or is it just that Stoodio finally sold :)
Slp down almost 4%,
Jlp up 1%
SP movements make little sense as per usual.
