Our organisation is very involved with the NortH2 project. It is a very good resource if you are interested about reliable information on the role of hydrogen in the decarbonisation plan.
"The decision of the German Federal Constitutional Court on the Climate Change Act will probably also lead to climate-neutral hydrogen becoming even more important. A study by the chemical industry from around two years ago shows that the industry itself, as a customer, views it this way too. The study revealed that complete decarbonisation of this industry through the use of green electricity would require 600TWh of electricity per year, which on its own would double the demand for electricity in Germany. Currently, in Germany solar and wind generate around 200TWh of electricity. From this alone it is evident that we need to import climate-neutral hydrogen: we cannot meet this demand strictly with electricity generated in Germany."

Hard to see PGM demand slowing or eroding.
Got a few more 98p MMS and spread is getting smaller
Chatmandu, have to agree with you for the most part. Nicely profitable but at current PGM pricing we will be in the 98-102 range for a while. Fundamentals are great but not exciting enough for most investors.
Yup PLATINUM USD/OZ 1098.41 1100.66 13.68 %1.26 PALLADIUM USD/OZ 2159.00 2185.78 %26.16
and the mm,s farting about with the spread lol
Perhaps we need to accept that SLP doesn't trade on fundamentals and the share price will never be 'fair'?
Has it transitioned from being a growth stock to an income stock?
Was previous share price growth may have been due to momentum with people buying with an expectation of further share prices rises, rather than a reflection of the actual results and quality of the company?
I don't think we'll see any sustained improvement until the end of the chip shortage and an increase in Rhodium prices (if that happens).
Rhodium seems to be holding $14500/oz on metalsdaily.
Plenty of profit so nice hold regardless of the chip shortage.
Blessed with the patience of a sloth my brother, and I've been rewarded handsomely on every single investment I've made for the past 15 years...
Nothing to see here on the dailies ladies. Check back in around December 31st.
:)
A lot of 'enthusiasm' (irrationality/impracticality) is still riding on EV vehicles.
I do like the tech, but the realities of Lithium mining (huge footprint -- whichever way you look at it), impractical ranges for commercial use and whatnot, are still not in the generally perceived picture.
And that's where the opportunity lies -- pending on your view of future developments.
Fuel cells have the potential of replacing ICEs, but they are (still) extraordinarily difficult to engineer, never mind infrastructure.
So the best bet for most commercial (or most) users, is hybrid.
I let you draw your own conclusions.
Currently, the vote (sentiment) is against this proposition/reality. Once the practical implications set in, that picture shifts.
In the meantime, it's just worth holding SLP for the dividends and cash generation (and shareholder value focus) alone.
Let that sink in.
So, once the picture becomes glaringly clear, where does the valuation go? No idea. But it's most likely better than now.
Taking advantage of people's misjudgement and unfortunate sentiment is what value investing is really about. Do you have the stomach/temper for it?
Patience.
" The SP confounds again... it’s very odd the 2 week slow decline in SP... Any thoughts?
----------
Well, you've as good as said it ic152, November has returned the SP back into a renewed bear grip. Sentiment is bearish, no matter that revenue and net profit last showed increases on prior years.
This past 5 year history has seduced us. It's been a dire downtrend in the SP since breaking cover after price peaked in May. Everything that had previously been relied on, no longer is.
SP-wise things are quite downbeat. It's showing no signs of abating, despite the false rallies leading all on a merry dance.
Off up north tomorrow - again. Had a lot more in mind to post but out of time again.
SLP is riding through badlands.
The SP confounds again. I know we are deeper entrenched with Rhodium pricing but with both platinum and palladium rising it’s very odd the 2 week slow decline in SP.
Cannot work this company out and I am very positive in the long term outcome but if we get close to £1.20 by year end I would be hugely surprised. Any thoughts?
Got back in at 98.50p so far :)
Brexit Britain poised to turbocharge economy and 'become leader' in booming hydrogen tech .....The Government has already laid down plans for a thriving hydrogen sector by 2030
Patiently is a good way ... I have had SLP from 2019 ... at 37p but sold to soon ... it has been good to me also ... have a good weekend up there!
@nutmegmilk Just waiting patiently up in the Highlands - it doesn't seem to want to go sub £1.
Been a LTH SLP for several years - they have been good to me and I top up from time to time as the notion takes me.
Thank you Ecosselibre... May try to grab some this morning at around the 98 -100p mark ....I guess your from Scotland ? ... I am on the East coast outside Edinburgh
@nutmegmilk Waiting for it to go sub £1.00 perhaps - If so you are not alone :-)
Thank you all I am still looking at this share ... can't understand why it is so low ...may buy back in again!
Tiger, as with 95% of the entire US population, the Rati's, Saudi's and pretty much all middle eastern (or arab nations) refuse to let their gas guzzling Nissan Patrol's go. They dumped the teslas into sand graveyard after a few weeks fun with the mistress looking at the big ipad display. Once they'd had their silent fun they went back to the noise.
Anyone who thinks EV's will rule the streets of most industrialised nations within the next 20 years (if that) is smoking some serious sh !t.
i do stoodio, but slp prob number 3
funny the old tesla in dubai, i would think with fuel costs over there being pretty cheap its not really the right place
mind you heat increases battery life so they might do well in some ways
not a fan of EV btw
Nice to see that my thread is still running, after six days. Discussion has no relevance to my original post, but as long as we are all happy :-)

Tesla's boomed when they hit Dubai, every local and his Lion wanted one. They opened a prime real estate location on the Sheikh Zayed Road. Within 6 months (no joke) that prime time location had shut down, reopened far smaller in a sh itty location as the locals (and expats) who bought that trash started selling them on.
They're now only used by Emirates First chauffeur services and the odd Lebanese tit who has one on finance. Safe to say the fad waned very quickly.
