SLP shafting my portfolio again today. Seems to be the rule lately...
Just my broker - letting me buy now.
NT to buy a small amount at the moment. Could just be my broker.
A 215k sell just shown up maybe thats what it is
Holy sxxx!! Free fall. It will soon be at book value
I dont get the stock market atm i mean what warrants the sp to drop how it has today ? There are obviously far superior minds than mine but i cant see it.
If SLP continue handing out dividends at a low price then the value proposition only improves as SLP have a lot more cash than they need to progress. Do not forget the board wanted to do buy-backs when the SP went in the 80's but were in a closed period.
I suspect buybacks will occur under 100p once they have any material news out of the way, such as evaluation of a special dividend for the next quarter.

EVs need alot more work before they become practical ... wait till you see how many go back to IC cars after a few years .... IC cars and lorries will be needed well into 2035
Could it be sentiment on fossil fuels?
It seems that the globalists are determined to end the use of fossil fuels for the plebs at all costs and are pushing climate change hard from every angle.
You can argue about the impracticalities of the alternatives and that the disruption the change would cause means fossil fuels are safe, but as we've seen, especially with the Covid 'response' the powers that be don't care about destroying economies - in fact covid has seen the largest redistribution of wealth in history - out of the hands of the working and middle class and into the hands of the elitists/globalists.
So, my fear is that the decision has been made and so fossil fuels are out - at all costs - within the next decade or so...and the climate change propaganda will continue to drive down sentiment on all things fossil fuelly!
Or maybe I'm just paranoid!
It was lucky was going to buy early this morning ... but got some after breakfast at a good price :) 93.78p
Its only going down so not sure why you wouldnt be able to buy hooefully you managed it :)
There seems to be such great potential here over the next 12 months, particularly now that it looks as though the chip shortage may be resolving itself allowing car producation to rise again.
Anybody any thoughts on what's causing this downward pressure on the sp?
I can only think that the issue is continued selling by Africa Asia Capital who seem to have sold consistantly over the last 12 months. Assuming that is the case then we should be seeing a TR1 very soon.
Bangrak, what downgrade are you referring to? I haven’t been able to find anything.
I am trying to add but it will not let me ?... anyone getting this ?
bangrak,
Many thanks for your critical input. Not sure about everyone else, but its definitively a point of view that needs serious consideration.
Best
That is fantastic news for slp on the end of the chip shortage….. hope I can grab some more at this price Monday!
SLP sole broker downgrades as discussed would happen, impossible for this year to be better than last, SLP refuses to issue an RNS stating mining life longer but tells Edison in the toilet, THS release regulatory RNS adding to open mine life. Interesting
SLP do with its cash? Is it earning interest etc, where is it parked?
I only thing I can add is I am adding :)
So another bad week at the office, SLP is an under loved share. Wondered if anyone can critique the following?
Cash $133M, receivables of $50M (approx?) and another $10M-$15M profit in Q4, so close to $200M, with assets of $86M. With an approximate book value of $286M and market cap of £265M ($355M) then the book value is 80% of the market cap and cash+receivables is 56% of market cap.
Rand has significantly from 14.5 to 15.7 per dollar in just a few months. This will significantly improve production costs which are usually in Rand compared to sales abroad.
The world platinum investment council think that we should buy more platinum...
