neds to be an RNS tommorow and a comprehensive one at that to address these environmental issues and a full corporate update of where we stand
Very interesting week and some good research done.
If only our Board were as active and engaged as Jimithebrush all might just be OK.
Let’s cross our fingers and hope !!
The bit i dont know (but want to know!) is what resolution 6/2020 was relating to!
The activist says it has been 100% voted and revoked...
but what was it agreeing to?
Hopefully just an administrative blip
curiouserandcuriouser, the illegal resolution of 6/2020 has been 100% voted and revoked, not any land permit so yes I stand by my opinion as I also posted previously some of the T's and C's the local people were asking for but have still not received any of them, the DQE offer IMO is still on the table "when they have some time to do the workover" as the permit still stands but now we await for those official documents to be passed on to the state administration body. I believe the only permit we are waiting for in the Heron well area is a tank to store the oil in when the oil is brought up so as we are still in early Q2 not too much to worry about but an update would be nice to clarify things. Just a little longer to wait. AIMHO.. GLA
To further clarify this topic heading says "Land Revoked".
There is nothing in the official looking focument following the meeting on 29.04.22 that Jimi translated that suggests any land has been revoked.
Let's not get confused.
Jimis post yesterday at 21.20 refers to a NEW situation that has developed AFTER any DQE interest.
Jimi has translated the official looking stamped document the activist has posted this weekend.
It looks like Matad Soum (who are the local government body) voted this Friday (29.04.22) to revoke an agreement or permit that had been granted to PM.
We don't yet know what this means for the business.
The videos etc. relate to wider conversations that have also been had this weekend on this thread regarding battles with the locals and whether PM took matters to court in 2019.
Until we get an update, if we actually need one. Enjoy the Bank Holiday.
This video was from 2019 and is no longer relevant.
Just for total clarity, and to avoid anyone thinking it's current or in any way has an impact on 2022 Operations.
So does anyone really believe that DQE would have offered cooperation to Petro Matad if there had been any truth in this? DQE know the situation on the ground very well, they would know exactly that this would be a risk!
However i can see your rationale and whilst her language is more potent, the official document does lean towards your interpretation
Jimi I worry (only imo and if the reporting is accurate) that it may be a little more serious . She posted "Erdenbadrakh team's illegal 2020 resolution related to Petromatad's LLC's 20th field of Petromat petroleum was revoked by 100% vote at today's team meeting".
The Online Dictionary definition of the word "revoke" is
To officially cancel (a decree, decision, or promise).
Of course all this is mashed up in the facebook translation discombobulator ... so technical definitions of words may not of course be being accurately translated
The way I read it the permit has been granted and Petro Matad have agreed ts and C's with the relevant people but appears that the official documents haven't been submitted by the governor to the administration body and that's what they are protesting about because nothing has been given to them from the company. So it looks like we are awaiting the paperwork to reach another desk to be finalized. AIMHO. GLA
I am not sure what all that means
Governor of Matad Soum Dornod Aimag.... 29/4/2022 G ADILBISH TANAA. According to the 13th resolution of the citizens public meeting of the ERDENEBADRAKH BAGH Dated 6/2020 which is kept in the governor's office have not been submitted to the relevant state administration body. Translated from another form that was posted Friday. Looks pretty official too. GLA
I think drilling will go ahead . Just matter of offering something to locals in return.
Heron is right next to a massive oil field so how can they stop one company and let the other company carry on making mess of the environment.
All the oil facilities are in the same region.
Matad soum villag is 50- 70miles away.
These environmentalists come from different towns and try and influence local people to vote against MATD..
The government needs to get involved and find out what the real problem is.
It can't be one rule for PC and another for PM.
Guys try and email MATD and put pressure to get this problem resolved.
It's taking far too long to get a permit. 2019 is when the issue started. They should've got to the bottom of this by now.
Mongolia is about the same size as Europe with 3.3 million inhabitants (half of which live in the capital). How can they be worried about environmental issues!Europe has about 500 million people.Surely the Mongolian government want Matd to start pumping oil.It makes no sense for them to make life difficult for us.However if we don’t get drilling by 30th June some serious questions need to be answered.
Correct Knigel, thanks for pointing out my error.
The Gold Mine - I am sure you meant Tuesday?
Well I hope they've improved their public relations/diplomacy and residents' engagement skills since 2019. Wiki says that there are only 2500 residents in the Matad Soum. I dont know but I guesd many may ne related as well.
Reposting this, Petro Matad appealed to the police to hold the company accountable

Petro Matad appealed to the police to hold the company accountable
Aimag and soum authorities, as well as citizens and civil society organizations, strongly opposed Petro Matad's illegal oil exploration in Matad soum last year. As a result, the Aimag Governor issued an order to forcibly vacate land A / 600 No. 2019, and on December 11 of the same year, Matad soum organized the land acquisition. E.Tumurbaatar, the governor of Matad soum, said that the company would conduct an environmental damage assessment and rehabilitate Petro Matad. Matad soum has appealed to the Dornod aimag police. In particular, Petro Matad LLC was investigated and prosecuted for environmental crimes under Article 24 of the Criminal Code.
I think the problem will.be solved but Matd will have to offer something half decent.
Looking at the history Matd has always donated to the locals.
Reminds me of a western oil and gas project I seen, the oil company had to go to outrageous lengths to buy off the local population... They were giving 6 figure sums to fishermen for "disruption" to fishing, etc, the problem was anyone who had a boat was claiming to be fisherman, there was all sorts of scams on the go, people were buying inflatables and claiming to be fisherman... The difference between that situation and this is Mongolia is sandwiched between Russia and China and nobody is queuing to setup shop in Mongolia, and also they need to start producing oil for their refinery + pipeline project,
master82: PM have told us in the last 2 RNSs they have petitioned the central government and it is going through the approvals procedure... From the last RNS
"At the same time, efforts are continuing apace to get the government to remedy the legal contradictions related to land access and usage issues that have previously impacted the work of Petro Matad and other operators in Mongolia. We are advised that proposed legal changes confirming land use rights, including input Petro Matad has provided, are working their way through the approvals processes within the central government."
I can only see one winner in this contest, the local council / permit office can play funny c__$ for a while, but the central government need new field development and exploration to ensure the oil supply to the refinery project + pipeline...
I'm hoping there is a dip on Monday and I will buy some more,
I think the only way is Matd needs to get the main government involved.
Surely they have given licence to matd and must have more power than the local governor.
The lady in question has made another post 5 hours ago:
"The 20th square of oil, Petromatad company's BONNU Khatandalai LLC has a obligation to submit a resolution of the 13th resolution of 2020.07.06 to the Khatandalai LLC."
Looks like they want PM to resubmit something that has disappeared from (or was never originally put in) the archive from almost 2 years ago, this smells to me like a game of "lose the paperwork", the local council / permit office can keep tying things up indefinitely with these sorts of games (haven't followed procedure / paperwork got lost in the archive / meeting couldn't be held that day etc. etc.) then refusing to issue permits...
