A 7p dividend would be life changing, maybe over next 3 years!!
Based on LSE daily tech chart -
Gap watch - Lloy
22nd-23rd Sept 21 - 44.0
21st-24th Feb 20 - 55.2
10th-13th Jan 20 - 60.1
23rd-24th Jun 16 - 71.1
27th-28th Oct 15 - 77.1
Gap watch - Barc
27th-28th July 21 - 170
11th-12th Aug 15 - 278
Re Lloy,
Interesting to note the 55p gap is currently closer than 44p
I note LSE chart shows 44p gap closed by spurious down spike 19th Oct - seen this anomaly on LSE chart before, don't trust it, IMO the 44p gap still stands

Good post asp
Excess capital yet no buyback (unlike BARC, HSBC)
Management tight lipped, makes you wonder -
* Concern?
Fear for the near future? Do Lloy see something others don't? Still a gap down at 44p, what might happen to pull us back down there?
* Alternative plan?
Does our new CEO have an alternate plan for all that excess capital? Is a huge acquisition on the cards
* Weak management?
Consequence of PRA undermining Lloy management? Is the loss of AHO & Lord Blackwell devastating for Lloy? Created a power vacuum? Weak and uncertain management?
A 7p divi would be a dream come true similar to a bidding war on the purchase of the lloyds group.
I've got a feeling it's going to be used elsewhere and a fear it's going to be disappointing.
Derfel, green energy or from cornish mining to wind and solar energy ,giga factories will be needed aswell,I think Lloyds are involved partly in tthe set up of the decorbonization plant at port of Grimsby ,there again id take a 7p divi lol!!:):)
MV
Banks and specially good solid old Banks are institutions... like a monarch... it is not about how they work on daily basis (only) is about where they put those effects and with who doing business (or not)
Banks like lloyds are master of that
So don't worry about them, Banks like Lloyds knows exactly what they are doing and why and where to make the money. Of course pandemic didn't help anyone and you created wealth when everyone sick or scare stuck at home.. that is changing for better
GL
IMHO
DYOR
Yeah last few acquisitions like MBNA Bank has hardly set the world alight
The excess capital is held back shareholders money from stopped cancelled suspended Dividend promises.
Lloyds BOD need to do the right thing and pay us the excess 7p that's should of been paid in Dividends over the past 2 years
How more bloated can the Group get.
AND PIGS MIGHT FLY

Plenty to go wrong with your thoughts. Bankers are not masters of the universe as they show us regularly , they are not even good at their day job some times.
Don't give the bank ideas.
I agree, I think the excess Capital will be used for acquisition. Ideas on good tie ups ?
I agree that further wealth management acquisition is where Lloyd's will target with they're excess Capital.. I believe that Quilter Plc could be on the they're radar...
The price has risen 7 of the last 10 days.
Support on the roof on the current trend 49p.
The next possible trend-top level is upwards of 53p and will pose a resistance level that may not be broken at the first attempt.
Anyway, an 18.23% rise since the 21st of September.
ATB & have a great weekend.
ECB Lagarde sees higher inflation; pushes back on rate-hike bets.
Lagarde acknowledges inflation will be high for even longer but pushed back against market bets that price pressure will trigger an interest rate hike.
MORE FUDGE!

"he needs a bit more spice of Johnson"
please no
.....plus better IT.
i like the ambition though, be the biggest landlord, biggest mortgage lender, biggest wealth management. Lead the Repair uk etc
Good rhetoric to have coming out of a pandemic and I expect future rate rises to cause a few losses, but many more benefits for lloyds profits
Actually, looking back through his history it obvious skier has had his account hacked.
PLEASE REPORT TO MODS
Me
"beef up their wealth management business which would not be a bad thing".
agreed, i didnt think embark and schroders tie up wont be enough if they seriously expect to challenge other retail platforms.

Crypto does sound stunning incredible and absolutely amazing.
Can. I ask some questions before I invest?
Does it always go up?
How many millions have you made?
Why do you need to sell it on here?
Theo
Thanks mate...
To me the budget tells me the goverment who knows exactly what is right and WHAT IS GOING ON
For me... despite never being a Conservative.... I think this was perhaps one of best and well designed and well delivered budget for many many years (remember considering the very challenging pandemic senario.).
I think Labour is denial because they honestly don't have a clue what would be a better budget for people... I saw the shadow chancellor in Preston programe and I said to me self thanks god she is not in charge ... totally clueless
Rishi is a genius and he should be prime minister .. he is
calm collective and knows what he is doing
He needs a bit more spice of Johnson that is lacking..lol
Anyway we can all argue what could be better budget but believe me even with the best budget in the world and still people will be complaining about something ...
He delivered what is best possible and I think that would stimulate the economy for next year and beyond very strongly actually.
Excellent news for Lloyds overal
Wish you all the best

IMHO
I think there is going to be disappointment in the dividend I’m sure there is going to be an acquisition before we get to the February finals to beef up there wealth management business which would not be a bad thing.
Skier is it possible to buy Siba coin and Dogecoin, if so from which broker ?
Think of it this way.
Lloyds = works with old "analogue" currencies from the past, like the pound.
Crypto = works with new "digital" currencies for the digital future of the digital youth, such as Bitcoin.
In the past 5hrs today since posting below about the Squid Game token, it has shot up another +100%...
Brixton-don't underestimate yourself. There is nothing that clever about it. You buy the stuff, it goes up: But if you've got a young relative to tell you which ones are ponzis and which ones do stuff, that helps.
I don't understand crypto .
But hope you do very well , clever . I think ,
but beyond me .
