I think it's just the Dollard weakness with expectations or rate cuts. BAE has a lot of revenue in $?
Anyone? - I'm baffled..

{note the contract is for $8.8 bill not as shown in the link!!}
This contract represents a little under 5% of BAE's annual revenue but is a sign of the continued need for military kit which will not diminish in the medium-term future. I continue to hold.
Yep, DBarnet but I am sure that mob will have a few freebie tryouts first and can afford a few of each.
You might be right but there is some uncertainty on the horizon and that is will Saudi by Rafaele over Typhoon.
If Saudi does not purchase Typhoons then that is a major loss. We'll see!
....even before I read Clued's post below. Believe SP still undervalued and world is as fractious as ever. Dividend likely to be improving.

BAE Systems PLC -
BAE Systems PLC (LSE:BA.) stands to net a multi-million windfall from the flotation of the national airline of Kazakhstan.
President Tokayev of Kazakhstan recently announced that Air Astana, in which BAE has a 49% stake, would pursue an international initial public offering next year – possibly in London.
The stake dates back to a botched defence technology deal more than 20 years ago but could now land the UK defence manufacturer an unexpected gain.
The British company put in $8.5 million to co-fund the launch of Air Astana in 2002 as part of an attempt to sell radar systems to Kazakhstan.
That defence deal collapsed under pressure from Russia, however, and BAE was left with the Air Astana stake, which today rests in its books with a valuation of £63 m.

Babc 0 c k was up over 3% today and BA. was down c 3%. I wonder are the Up and Down connected ?
Troajan,
I'm not aiming at you. I'm a shareholder in BA. and agree with you. I'm annoyed at the ignorant yobs protesting about everything and anything that takes their fancy. Great that Greenpeace are being sued for $ Billions by SHEL and related contractor. There's an argument against the form of so-called totally free Democracy that Populist ideologies demand these days. The other extreme as in China and Russia are too much in the other direction.
Dont shoot the messsenger clued

Troajan, re your link to BAE facing a public backlash over its involvement in the production of F-35 warplanes used by the Israeli military in Gaza, it is supplying only 15% of the parts and not doing anything illegal. The purchase lead time on these parts is years so what the Israelis are currently using was supplied years ago and no protests can reverse what happened years ago. I can't believe the days we live in where mobs can try to bully legitimate businesses - Defence, Oil and Gas, Tobacco, etc.. - to change what they do. Elected Governments are meant to deal with situations that require a change. In most cases of these protests, most participants are badly informed and are simply there to be part of something that helps their mental state of loneliness or 'life without a purpose' !! Seeing the videos of rioters in London on Saturday taunting police really reveals what a sorry state British society is in today. I actually felt sorry for the police because they are so restricted in how they can deal with these rough ignorant yobs. I can only imagine the reaction if the police started shooting at them !!
Who do these morons think they are ? London will be chaos tomorrow, and if HMG think that there won't be a violent confrontation with police whilst Remembrance Day attendance takes place at same time as these Gaza demonstrations take place, then they're really deluded !! All it takes is for thousands to divert towards Whitehall and the police will be in serious bother !! What's happening in Gaza is wrong, but Hamas could get a ceasefire by releasing all hostages alive, the ball is in Hamas's court !!
Protesters blockade BAE Systems factory in Rochester over Gaza
Fri, 10th Nov 2023 10:11Alliance News
(Alliance News) - UK trade union members on Friday blockaded a British military equipment maker in southeastern England, calling for a ceasefire in Israel's offensive in Gaza.
Demonstrators brandished banners and placards reading "no business as usual" and "taxpayers have blood on their hands" outside the gates of the BAE Systems PLC factory in Rochester.
Organisers said they were aiming to shut down the factory "which provides components for military aircraft currently being used by Israeli forces in the bombardment of Gaza".
They said it was part of an "international day of action for Palestine" organised in response to a call by Palestinian trade unionists.
Since the Hamas attacks in southern Israel on October 7 – in which Israel says 1,400 people were killed and 240 taken hostage – Israel has bombarded Gaza relentlessly and sent in ground troops.
The Palestinian territory's Hamas-run health ministry says more than 10,800 people have been killed in Gaza, many of them children.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that a ceasefire without the release of the hostages would mean "surrender to Hamas".
Aid organisations said on Thursday that a full ceasefire is needed to get help to civilians in Gaza wounded in Israeli bombardments, and to transport crucial aid to the 2.4 million people living in the besieged territory, one of the most densely populated in the world.
Shares in BAE were up 1.8% at 1,109.50 pence each in London on Friday morning.

TOP 5 for me are:

RIO.L
LGEN.L
MRC.L
BA.L comes in below RKT.L, GSEO, PEY.L, SIE.XE and ROG.S
My portfolio has not been constructed for income. It has been constructed for capital growth and any income thrown off is a bonus and more often than not from holdings owned for decades.
AAL - Anglo American
BAe - but I hold for share growth eg Typhoon sale & will sell down
Rolls Royce - no dividend but share price growth. Will sell down once I hit my target
MKS - yes after 4 years Marks & Sparks now paying a 1p dividend ! But share price growth for me and sell out.
After that lot I hold ETF's. So not really a dividend seeker .
23 pence or something. If I read your post correctly then you have £1m in shares. A bit risky for a £23,000.00 dividend?
Long term Tempest may flop, short term Saudi's might buy Rafael and a possibility of a share price drop after Ukraine war bought to a negotiated settlement and the Americans equip the Ukraine airforce with F16's.
But I hope not ! :)
What are your current top 5 dividend stocks ?
Fantastic company, what is the expected next dividend at themoment please?
If i owned 100000 of these...🤩
No. The German manufacturer or ( OEM ) hold all the 'rights' etc. And....
If you redisign from scratch then has to pass all safety checks etc
And building just '48' black boxes is too small an order for a new manufacturer to take on due to costs.
So, back to German approval or no sale!
DBarnett, couldn't BA. source the requisite parts currently supplied by Germany ? There are others that could make these parts surely ?
Are the two Wars over - why the large drop today ? 2.5% is unwarranted.
