Hey NImrod! Interesting post and it's good to share perspectives. I'm a bit younger than you, but no spring chicken. I have a stupidly diverse portfolio, but I find it difficult to resist sound companies with good prospects. However, discarding the duds is a different matter. That said, probably 50% of those duds eventually do recover into substantial gains. Metro Bank, Costain and Luceco come to mind. I'm neither desperate nor nerdy enough to work out the real gains vs opportunity cost but I think I've had a good roll of the dice.
So what actually was your motivation to sell out at this level? Too stressful to bother with them, decluttering, or do you think the prospects are dim?
