Yes, had eyes on the deal but I thought you had suggested Saudi was looking at buying the whole company, not some of it's jets. Very sorry. All clear now.
Apart from reports :

The Saudi's still fly Tornado. It's finished in 2030. They need aircraft so if the Germans refuse to budge then the French will move in.
Q: A bigger drop will come if there is any truth in the Saudi's exploring buying Rafale. ?? What do we know about the Saudi desire for Rafael ?
Hell yeah,stormshadows
and that new typhoon replacement, looks pretty mean aswell
We do aeroplanes with bombs ;)
Artee
ooops soz, yeah, you guys dont do airliners.lol.
Wrong board I think Troajan!
A bigger drop will come if there is any truth in the Saudi's exploring buying Rafale.
German export ban still it seems prevents the 48 Typhoon order and the Saudi's need to replace a lot of aircraft. Nervous times!
Oldbutnowisa, Yes, can't understand the retreat on Friday. Israel seems to be ramping things up even with some Israel survey saying that israelis oppose the Gaza strip invasion. Hamas should be forced to hand over the specific 'animals' who butchered babies and young children face to face as they are obviously psychopaths and do they actually want them to remain within their military and Palestinian society at large ? It's one thing killing children from a distance through bombing, etc..., but quite another doing it personally face to face. Even terrorist groups like the IRA never did such things.
LSE gives the PE here as just over 15 which, for the outfit most heavily geared to defence in the world as it is right now is not just cheap. It ranks as a 'must have' in any rational investor's portfolio!
This is a hold for me at this level based on P/E. At 17 times earnings, we need something else to happen?
Time will tell, only bought 1500 back on 2010, and haven't traded them since, boring as they seem, there a great British company still left standing..
USA won't want this Israel going any further than it has with what they are helping out with in Ukraine v Russia at the moment.
God forbid Korea & Taiwan equation in years to come.
Hope this goes back to normal soon! Doubt it though... :-(
It does look tempting, but at 15 times P/E not sure at now. I'm watching for a pullback to low 900p to consider a top up.
BAE have done well in M&A with Ball Technology, and with order book now standing at £66bn!!!
I'd just wait until we have another wobble and consider topping up here.

Seems an attractive point to add..... with tensions rising between Serbia and Kosovo, a second conflict seems to be bubbling under the surface.
Couldn't resist a (small) top-up. Be rude not to...
Thank you
BAE will pay a 2023 interim dividend of 11.5p per share on 30th November 2023 to shareholders on the register on 20th October.
A trading update will be released around 14th November '23.
2023 full year results will be announced around 22nd Feb '24.
When is the ex div date please?
In this tishy stock market these are looking particularly attractive again. A further purchase for my p/f would have to be lower down but if you don't have any, look at the logic please.
If news is to be believed, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-66984944 (and broadly I think it can), it seems that within NATO there is a growing sense of realism that within a defence budget, wages paid to Service personnel is only part of the picture. If you like, the "boots on the ground" and the "will of the people" secure broad boundaries. But boots on the ground are only brilliant if they are able to actually defend, control, retain or regain borders in times of emergency.
This Ukraine:Russia conflict has been waging for not yet 2 years and already, stockpiles for NATO security are at worrying levels. However distasteful war is and no matter from what colour in the political divide, defence of country (and by extension those in a Treaty) mean that supplies need to continue to be supplied to Ukraine for the extremity defence of Nato territory and increased production to ensure all in the NATO alliance to be able to protect that alliance.
It is basic stock control that will use up old stock to be replaced with new. The hope from ordinary herberts such as me, is that the replacement stuff has at least equal effectiveness and in the same or more quantity to that which is being replaced. Cost in the defence of a border is the will of the people and "boots on the ground"
That'll do nicely :)
I'm sure they know the answer already after all Sholze visited Saudi a year ago. More recently the Saudi defense minister visited BAe back in December.
And why would MBS visit the UK if there are no deals to be signed, no point in him subjecting himself to the usual anti Saudi demonstrations for just a hand shake and a bit of investment elsewhere.
So, I shall hold. Been waiting for this order for sometime. If it doesn't happen now that's pretty bleak news for BAe in Saudi.
At least Sunak is putting a bit of focus on closing the Saudi Arabia Eurofighter order ahead of Crown Prince’s U.K. visit.
