Scousemouse, both BATS and IMB are solid cash generators and div payers despite increasing societal discrimination. There are many activities with health risks, eg eating foods with high sugar, Cocaine and other illegal drugs, skiing high mountains, climbing mountains, Red Cross at war front lines, etc...., and these tobacco cos should be more encouraged to develop their NGP more quickly. Society has allowed these businesses to develop over many years whilst happy to receive their taxes, thus shouldn't be so discriminatory, bit like Govt current anti-oil and gas !! I don't smoke myself as that is my choice, we all have free will don't we !!

BP's next Trading Update will blow the Market away if share price remains at these ridiculously low levels. There won't be any Peace Deal unless the US gives in, even moderately, to some of Iran's key demands of Nuclear power, release of foreign assets, control of SoH, no restart of US and Iran military action, end of Israel aggression in Lebanon and US military departure from Gulf area. Honestly cannot see the US humbling itself anytime soon ..... My opinion only !!

Jakers, as we all know Life is so inconsistent and contradictory. Most jobs that 'ordinary' johns and marys go for attempt to ensure that new employees 'fit in' with the business's culture and the other employees already there, the latter importance for teamwork and optimising added value to the business. Surely, at Boatd level, a business the size of BP has the HR and other resources to choose directors who have the right skillsets and personalities to net benefit BP ? You mention 'Superegos' and I understand the scenario. However, their 'Superegos' are very limited in that truly effective valuable directors and top management are those who have very high people skills in motivation, diplomacy and empathy as well as those in academia, relevant experience and business contacts. As I've said, I'm very surprised that BP aren't basically doing the obvious with their recruitment of directors and other senior management, it's not Rocket Science as I'm only a simple lad !!

Don't know the correlation mathematically, but there are is one very rich person living in a high value mansion in Florida who is certainly not of high quality !! Seaangler, yes you could have made huge extra gains by continuing to hold RR., but we all sell 'too early' sometimes especially in the more volatile current markets. Some didn't invest in RR. at all, or in ITM, or in CWR, or in BA., or in BAB, or in IAG, etc..., some multibaggers, so your gains are better than theirs !!

Weirdpal, valid point of view and though I rebought in at c.520p I did originally buy in at c.200p back in 2020/2021 and took gains along the way. The dividend is okay, but my investment as is in BP is not my best and just as well other parts of my PF are performing much better !! The BP story isn't over yet though as SoH will not be operating at pre-War levels for a long time yet. IRGC won't surrender easily.

Martyres, thanks for info on RBC £7 target !! Agree re the over reaction to Manifold sacking, if his behaviour was as publicised then BP are better off and let's be positive that they'll replace him with someone of the calibre of new CEO Meg who she can work well with to transform BP to the higher level it should command. I feel that there's lots if manipulation going on in the BP share price as there'll be high oil and gas prices for the next 12 months at least and that extra cash will materially reduce BP's debt. Also, a strong possibility that BP will announce a move to the US if UK's Labour persist in their naive scramble to steal more tax from BP et al !!

Sharefall, the War may end, but then restart soon after !! As history has shown, never say never where the ME is concerned !! Iraq is still very much a Work in Progress, Yemen and Syria certainly not at peace !! Where will Iran end up, indeed where will Israel be in 10 years, both have very similar degrees of hate within their regimes ?!!

Jamtart1, some of your comments highly amuse me !! God, if indeed God exists, is meant to love us all etc.... etc... We're put on this Earth to be 'tested' because of some sin that some distant ancestors, so-called Adam and Eve if indeed they ever existed. I am I guess what you call a Bible thumper, but, even though there are some good things in it, I certainly am not so naive to believe in many aspects of it !! I have very little fear of death, maybe 5%, so have no problem with beliefs incorporating such lack of fear. Just because the IRGC have the latter doesn't mean that they would be irresponsible with a nuclear weapon if they had one. After all, North Korea also has one !! Why should the US have one anyway ? In fact, no-one should have such weapons of Mass Destruction !!
