If you were paying nearly 100% on some of your income, eg your UK income, and was told recently that you may have to pay nearly 100% on all of your income, what would you do ?!! Milliband and Reeves are playing very high stake poker here and I believe that they are out of their depth !! If BP leave, I'm sure Shell will also strongly consider it and even Harbour Energy. May be worth cutting their losses as BP did re their New York coastal wind energy assets not so long ago. I wouldn't trust the UK Govt anyway, remember that BP have lost c.$25b of Russian assets because of pressure from UK and other Govts which is so easily forgotten by them.

Sent email to above last Thurs to find out what options exist for us private investors. From what I can see, the UK is a mess, a mix of too many varied opinions to allow much chance of a settled existence. It won't become a 3rd world country in the foreseeable future as there are countries in Africa more developed than that level and the UK is currently one of the World's richest nations despite concerns about its sovereign debt level.
