Jamtart1, the challenge for UK politics, and it also applies in many other countries, is to find a political party suitable to UK as it now is and with a suitable management team. Unfortunately, many countries are struggling to achieve the latter. Of course, so-called democracies ideally also need an electorate who understands the policies of those on the ballot and of their political party, however this understanding is also sadly rare and thus there are millions who lack enough knowledge of economics, international politics, fiscal policy, etc..., voting for parties and candidates with a high risk that the electorate get it wrong, eg look at the US !! Reform is certainly not the right answer !!

Yes Paddy....., something definitely holding back BP especially with the increased Brent futures price and now a 4th Broker- increased price target within the last 2 months to the 650 to 700p range. I think it's selling in steady volume by funds exiting carbon energy that, like some of us, have been waiting for years for an improved BP share price. My confusion though is why they aren't waiting longer for a higher BP share price. Maybe we'll discover the reason with hindsight !!?

Paddyg..., don't forget that BP has lost circa $25billion of Russian assets and is also still paying off 'damages' re its 2010 Gulf of Mexico (oops America) oil disaster thus meaning that it has higher debt than other large oil companies. Just my view !!

Fordm, having one nationality is enough tbh !! I also was a US Person, having also another nationality, and renounced my US one in 2019 for an extortionate princely high sum after going through the 5+ years of a tax amnesty during which I actually owed no US tax, a complete joke but glad I did it anyway !! I was not born in the US and now have only one country's tax return to complete annually !!
