Read a post where someone said Vodafone price is very manipulated. Just looked at the trades in the last 30 mins of trading and it's very controlled with hundreds of the same trades fired at once.
It may be all sorts of things
1. some update on Italy
2. Something resurfaced about Middle Eastern interest in some of the African assets
3. Some new partnership
4. Absolutely nothing
"The shares are undervalued on NAV but the market just keep playing on the poor performance ...and when you see that in H1 they made a loss"
Poker the only reason they showed a loss in H1 is due to the way they allocate Working Capital.

There'd be less regulatory kickback over a Vodafone takeover than a BT takeover, since Vodafone isn't the number one provider in any of its markets. There may some national security considerations in the UK, due to any Government contracts Vodafone may have in relation to the old CWW network in the UK. If it's a US or European based takeover then I doubt there'd be significant obstacles, if it originates in the Middle East then it's anyone's guess. Because of the time the rumour came out, it feels more like market games, if there's anything behind it we might read more over the weekend. It's also interesting that the market stopped the climb shortly after crossing 66p, and also how quickly seekingalpha released the story following the upward move.
Probably shorts buying back shares after drop taking profit
The shares are undervalued on NAV but the market just keep playing on the poor performance ...and when you see that in H1 they made a loss, it isn't too surprising the market has gone elsewhere and basically told the BOD to achieve their targets ..
It isn't cheap running the VOD system...investing in it and maintaining it.... and they do need better returns from it , which hasn't been easy for them
I ain't got anye skin in the game, I is simpley a market comentater.

Sorry gutter not looking goode AGANE for you
I mean how far can you drive an Sp so low.
Vods reception by far the best I've ever experienced and I've had mobiles since pontius was a pilot
The rumours are becoming more persistent, there is talk about specific banks already involved also this time, so could be some substance.
UK equities have been shorted to ludicrous levels.
Vodafone at a 30 YEAR low.
The Middle East are always looking at showing they are on the map.....but a full takeover ?
Only a big telco like AT&T and possibly Verizon could swallow Vodafone.
AT&T's market cap is 6x Vodafone's.

Bit unusual to get such a thing at 4pm on a Friday afternoon ...unless it was made just to catch some away from their desks
going to need some fat on the pig or its going to die a quick death
Interesting spike,someone somewhere know's something?
But dropping back somewhat. Probably just a glitch. Vod doesn't do SP increases!
Canโt get a top up with Halifax as it comes up with negotiated trade but before that screen cam up it said 66.2p
Indeed it has and I was just considering a top up :)
Yes, but also no news to go down. The stock is significantly manipulated
