If you spread bet you pay 0 tax, its tax free
We pay stamp duty because the government says so, same as any other tax. You don't have to agree with it.
When will what end gutter? The sp will go up and down indefinitely. Stupid question.
Because you want the NHS. Got to be paid for somehow.
It knot lookin goode agane sadley.

Wear will it end?
Nobody noes...
Does anybody know why we pay stamp duty when buying shares?
Do you have an isa account? Surely if you don't the 30 rule will apply with selling and repurchaing the same stock so soon.
£500 pound you probably will struggle to break even with a small amount with broker fees, stamp duty and a small divident you would need it to rise considerably to make any profit and with lloyds its unlikely to happen
Mite be worth getting back in early 60s range for dividends
Depends on who offers because they hold a lot of government and healthcare contracts which means some offers are liable to be blocked on security reasons
With Currys receiving numerous take over offers, I wish and prey for similar for VOD.
Anything over £1 would do me please
Fusion98

Gutter - do you speak any English?
Best of luck, might break that 70p this week!
Beo. It doesn't matter if you are trading C.F.C's or spread betting ( both of which I have tried) Won some, lost more) Unless you can see into the future, you are likely to lose money. C.F. D 's & spreads are almost the same, highly geared investments where you bet on share price movements, but both have a spread buy to sell which is why you are likely to lose, & the bookmaker/broker is likely to win. They are not a charity.

It must be very painful for you to see the sp do the opposite of what you predict day in and day out.
Either that or you just like to make yourself look like a clown to everyone who reads the board.

I tried trading £12k worth of shares but the descent drops are tiny. I sold at 67.4p yesterday and bought in again this morning at 66.7p. and after fees I got an extra 60 shares so hardly a big mark up. Anyone who day trades VOD will be skint.
