Thanks for your advice avocet.
Garonne I still think you should sell out asap because your outlook on vod is so poor and you are so annoyed that you have lost money here.
Thanks Robleo and to Henner and Cheap shares for giving your views. The consensus amongst you seems to be that the bottom is in. Let's hope so. Maybe with some positive news on Italy we could creep back into the 70s or am I getting carried away! Lol
The CEOs turnaround plan will take time to have impact although full year results should tell if any impact will be there to come
There has been large stake building interest and massive 56m £ buys at around 65p so I would think bottom is in - but have to wait and see.
I would recommend a 10-20% divi cut but it's possible this will not materialize. Ideally there would be at least one asset sale combined with a debt reduction from the sale proceeds and 10-20 respective divi cut and further cost cuts. This would probably boost the share price.
However if E& has told Margery to purely cost cut but not cut the divi - she might well have to oblige
Garonne, unlikely to be any quick turnaround. VOD is the proverbial oil tanker. Lets give MdeV the benefit of our doubt for another couple of years and see where we are at the end of 2026. I remain optimistic. Look at the recovery of RR over the last 12 months as to what can happen when our investment is in the right hands.
Garonne, I'm definitely no expert but company's with high debt will suffer the most in times oh high inflation and interest rates, we don't know of course but hopefully this has reached it's bottom price, i'm in no hurry to sell and just can't bring myself to sell at this very low price, and it's still paying a dividend at the moment, but you will have to make your own decision on what you feel is best for yourself and not take much notice of what goes on here, but best of luck
Wow! You must be a masochist Avocet if you don't have an issue with your investment here! Unless you bought in the low 60s of course? Losing circa 35% in a year makes this an extremely poor investment, in my view. I guess if it recovers then it could be good but there's absolutely no sign of that happening so far.
I don't have an issue with my investment here so I don't need to sell, unlike you
Don't worry Avocet, I'm certainly thinking about it. What about you?
Garonne, I have a solution for you! SELL OUT. Please do it asap so you don't need to be frustrated anymore.
And everyone here will thank you.
Vodafone has only increased its market cap once in the last 10 years, in 2017 and lost all the gains in 2018. It's been dropping ever since. I'm beginning to think that it's in terminal decline based on its atrocious track record. Maybe it is "cheap" for a reason as some have alleged. The current management are certainly not making any tangible progress towards a recovery, which is very disappointing given Margherita's promises of a turnaround upon taking up her post as CEO. She really has been a disaster.
Avocet123, yes it is old news that Vodafone has been dropping in value since 2018, but unfortunately it hasn't changed direction yet, I would like to think this is a very undervalued price for this share and there is at least some hope for it to start increasing some time this year, but by how much it will increase and how long it will take to recover i have no idea, with a recession in Germany and the UK we could be in for a long wait, the big question is will it all be worth it? I wish i knew the answer to that one, nice jump up today with Lloyds announcing better than expected profits also Aviva jumping up on expectations of good results, Vodafone is not the easiest share to be invested in for sure, what are your thoughts on it?
They used to sponser that darkie in fromula 1 if I remmembers right
Yes yes yes that's all old news. Have you got anything else to contribute at all, like about the company? Anything?
