Ten Alps PLC05 December 2006 Ten Alps plc Launch of Public TV Ten Alps Plc ('Ten Alps') beta-launched its Public TV website (www.public.tv)today. Public TV aggregates internet video about government, professional training andbusiness in a fast, free, quality-controlled search. The site now continues to load content, towards full launch in February 2007.Initially focussed on the UK, Public TV plans soon to add US content. "The technical heavy-lifting is done, development costs and delivery are ontarget and the revenue models are potentially exciting," said Ten Alps CEO AlexConnock. "Public TV is about (say) a medical student being able to find usefulprofessional development videos, without having to wade through endless films ofCalifornians at doctors and nurses parties. That can be a problem with existingvideo aggregation sites." Nigel Dacre, Managing Director of Ten Alps Digital and head of the Public TVproject, said: "We think Public TV is more scaleable and timely now than when we firstdeveloped the plan in March 2006. A tidal wave of low-end, user-generated videoentertainment has hit the internet, but it's much too hard to find the videowith editorial substance. Public TV addresses that." A dedicated advertising sales office is being established in Manchester thisweek, under Ten Alps' existing 250-strong ad sales force. Since the plan behindPublic TV is that it aggregates existing video content from content partners,Ten Alps does not produce most of the video content itself, defining its costmodel very differently from a traditional TV channel. "We are also exploring several specific internet TV propositions which couldcome on stream next year, driven by our 400 existing Ten Alps Publishingspecialist media client relationships.
