Appointment of Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee

DFS Furniture PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Gill Barr as an Independent Non-Executive director of the Company effective from 1st March 2023. Ms Barr will also be appointed as the Chair of the Remuneration Committee from that date and as a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees.

Steve Johnson, Chairman, said, "I am delighted to welcome Gill to the Board. Her customer facing and business development expertise is directly relevant to the group's strategy. Her experience in remuneration will bring valuable experience and insight to the Remuneration Committee. I look forward to working closely with Gill over the next few years."

Ms Barr is currently a Non-Executive Director of Wincanton PLC, N Brown Plc and Paypoint Plc.

Ms Barr was previously a Non-Executive Director of McCarthy & Stone from 2019 until it delisted in 2021. Prior to that she was a Non-Executive Director of Morgan Sindall Plc from 2004 to 2012. Her executive career focus has been on strategy and customer centric business development. She was Group Marketing Director of The Co-operative Group from 2011 to 2014 and was previously Marketing Director of John Lewis. She spent seven years at Kingfisher Plc where she held a variety of senior marketing and business development roles.

Ms Barr does not currently hold any DFS Furniture Plc shares and no further information in connection with her appointment is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
