I wonder if any of you stalwarts on here will be taking up the Open Offer in Erris, which closes this week?

Knowing that Erris would be doing some fundraising, I had intended selling some of my SGZ to divert there after we had gone Boom! Unfortunately, Erris have come along for funds much earlier than I'd expected, at a time when, instead of going Boom!, we have gone Phut! Unfortunately, I have no other free funds at the moment and wonder if it's wise to sell SGZ when the are (hopefully) at the bottom of their recent slide.

The problem with Sturgeon is that she's cast so firmly in the dour, Scottish Presbyterian mould. It's not a question of her competence or the seriousness of the situation or the way in which her Government, perforce, is tackling it. It's the almost total lack of inspiration and hope that is received from her daily messages. At the other extreme there are the flamboyant, head-in-the-sand, declarations of It'll All Be Over By Christmas/ Easter/ Christmas. But there has to be some sort of middle ground, surely? Sturgeon, sadly, is reducing the nation's morale to absolute rock bottom. People have no hope of any kind of future.

I asked JIM, very courteously, why he was so concerned to upset the proverbial apple cart within only two or three days of becoming a member. He must either have a prodigious reading speed and capacity in order to have absorbed a decade's worth of RNS's so quickly, or he has been here before.

I've just seen in today's news that Scotland's Deputy Chief Medical Officer is called Caesar. Blimey, that'll upstage a mere First Minister at a daily briefing! And not only that, but Dr Caesar has dared to be very cautiously optimistic. Admittedly it is VERY cautiously, but that will limit his chances of survival in Altnaharra's Kingdom of Unremitting Gloom that is Armageddon-on-Spey. I wonder who she's got lined up for the role of Brutus?

As I said the other day, you always have to look at the sub-text with The Sturgeon.

Dear JIM, I'm not at all sure why you've bothered to raise this issue. You have mentioned two or three times that you yourself are confident that the the funding will be in place by May 2022, so there surely shouldn't have been the real need to sow this temporary seed of discord. With respect, JIM, I notice that you've been a member here since the 2nd of January. Which is fair enough, everyone joins sometime. But you are certainly hitting the ground running, if you don't mind my saying so.

Sums were never my strong point. But I do have a respect for legalities. Surely if the company uses the quite specific wording "is fully funded" in an RNS and that is not the case, then they would fall foul of the regulatory authorities? A lie by any other name. Which I find very hard to credit to our BoD.

Well, Dibs, CP52, if you remember, used to post, on an almost daily basis, things about SGZ in enormous technical detail that was way beyond the content supplied by ordinary private investors on any other board that I've come across. And clearly the rest of the world took little interest in that either.

As for the 'cliqueiness', I would call it camaraderie. Built up over a decade by many of us. I would far, far sooner that than the thoroughly unpleasant - in many cases almost libelous - outpourings of animosity and bile that you get on too many boards. Please be part of our friendly, if somewhat quirky, little crew.

Oh dear. "The construction and manufacturing industries will remain open, but Ms Sturgeon said this would be kept under review". Those of us in Scotland have seen many of Altnaharra's "under review" over the past months. And we know where we usually go from there. School re-openings were the latest ones "under review" as recently as a couple of days ago. So don't enjoy too much "relief" just yet, chaps.

Baz, the vaccine rollout is another issue I'm a tad irritated by. The MHRA gave its approval early on Wednesday last, the rollout begins today. Five days lost, IMHO. And this is all supposed to be 'gravely urgent'. There was no way the MHRA wouldn't give approval, it was just a matter of when. Surely the logistics should have been in place to hit the ground running and the rollout begin at Wednesday lunchtime, at least for 'captive' patients who didn't need to be contacted by letter?

Yes, Blakeney, schools closing has been flagged up for days in that thoroughly annoying way she does; lets everyone stew and worry, prolonging the agony, without actually coming out and saying so. She's done this to the hospitality industry so many times in this crisis. I haven't seen any speculation about industry, beyond 'enforcing people to stay at home' and 'working from home' . Dig a mine in your back garden for something to do?
