D, I am sure you are right, plus as Inch and Surfie, will attest to, it gets pretty soul destroying seeing your investment go down. Many will simply bail to cut losses.

I believe you are still in profit but how would you feel if you had bought at 7-8p?

I know i bang on and on and on, about it, but the psychological pressure on looking at losses every day/week will do collective heads in! Selling is the only way then to relieve that genuine misery.

my leaning towards expansion is just the breadth of positions available, seems all depts are getting more or replacement staff.

Its probably a mixture of both churn and expansion. But, if money is tight and it is very tight right now, then this potentially bodes for maybe a better update than forecast. (actually it just has to be as forecast because the SP has built in quite a negative expectation at this stage.)

it just depends if these are replacement jobs for people leaving or expansion jobs. If its expansion then its a very positive sign.

If not then its slightly negative as that seems to be a lot of vacancies all at once.

My money is on expansion.

It seems at some stage going forward the cash in hand is not going to be enough now to take this much further forward, so its likely a case of when not if.

To be successful the company is going to need to demonstrate a high level of an expectant good outcome.

I can see directors buying stock. This would tell the market they are putting their money where mouth is and that in turn should/would lift the SP making any dilution less on the cash raised and at the same time quickly rewarding the directors buy in.

So if this is going to recover, then initially i think there has to be some shallow drilling in the next few months. producing good results, followed by director buy-in and a cash raise for the bigger drill with a number of drills planned.

I don't think HE1 have the option of sitting too long on their hands doing surveys. ( I think the market has moved on from that place).

Morning SGF, dur to the posts highlighting ADV I had a look but its just another exploration company so I am kinda done with them plus oil... the world is awash with it and will slowly but ever more quickly use less of of it.

I agree SGF, the only thing is I have not got a clue (with a FA hat on) whether or not this will tick up or down over the coming months.

Your logic for a drift down makes perfect sense, but equally one RNS with some positive news of just a "good" seismic study, and that could at least bolster the SP and keep it bubbling around this price then he might just get a shallow drill out this year and we are back to the races... (well, 10p plus...) while we wait again. Or he does get the bigger drill booked...

(Oh God , I'm talking myself into more buying...) But seriously, who knows from here either up or down.

Chart-wise the 8-8.5p floor is holding thus far, so from that perspective this is an ok place to buy i guess...

If you held a gun to my head (based on the chart ) i would be a buyer here, rather than a seller as there are a couple of indicators saying the fall is over... (famous last words.)

One tit bit, one rumour and then so many latch on to the potential respite of the previous falls.

Although it might sound facile to say how easy it is to manipulate people when fear and greed are at play, it's more a realisation of how hugely powerful these emotions are.

And always bear in mind, its people who buy and sell shares and therefore people who alter the price. As an extreme example like this over last week or so, you start to realise (if you had not before), how predictable people can be under conditions.

A little way to go yet wiggly, it needs to close above 140p to confirm breakout and is just starting a what i think will be a minor retrace as the intraday 15m chart was going into overbought territory.

It looks good though, i think for the 140p to go today and who knows, maybe it will make good progress towards 155p ish.

Recently every opening, every morning the SP falls or is marked down a few p and then at some varying point in the morning it sometimes (usually) recovers.

(I have put this down to money expecting THE RNS to fall at 7:00am and when it doesn't the market marks down and moves on.)

Today (maybe straw clutching), it hasn't.

Hopefully a positive day beckons from the outset.

Well, that might be a problem then, as its the SP movement between when you buy and sell that determines your loss or gain.

I'm not sure what satisfaction you will gain if BH SP goes up more than ABF's but somehow you will interpret ABF's results as "superior"?

Just for arguments sake, say BH's results are on your own terms better than ABF's, would you admit it here and say, effectively "sorry guys I was wrong, I underestimated BH"

Hursty it closed at 140p only last week....

Jupiter took out first short on 7/07 and the SP that day closed at 160p. They added to that position on the 12/08, the SP closed then at 119p.

Currently the SP is 130p so the August short is about 9% underwater. The main Short form July is showing a 30p gain which is just less than 20%. Therefore the added august short is eating into the overall profit.

The question remains as to why Jupiter did not close out at 100p or thereabouts on the 17/08? (It would make sense that that was a target, imo)

If the SP continues to rally as the month goes on, unless Jupiter have inside info, they will have to close out I would have thought, because if the AVCT update is positive then 200p could be hit fairly quickly. The most positive scenario would be that prior to the results if the short was closed that would accelerate and give a "snowball" effect to the SP as Imagine the hot money would return.

Jupiter may be "gambling" that updates from AVCT have generally disappointed so why would this next one be different.

Looks to me like another very, very important update is looming. If Ophidian is correct then all should be well.

Without rehearsing all the old arguments for for and against, it comes down to EVE being a profitable business. If they are, then 15p-20p is easily (realistically) doable. And if they can show that they are clearly on the right road without any ambiguity in the upcoming RNS, then a major rerate would be on the cards.

But really, who knows?

Yep, the idea was to hold longer and give potential multi baggers a fair chance, but in the end the ones i played around with are so volatile that i ended up trading more than ever, which was exactly the opposite of what i wanted.

It will still take a few months for some plays to unwind but as I extracate myself from them, i'll go back to large caps & tight spreads (oh err missus), and try and sniff out the 5-10% winners over a much shorter timescale.

But first we just need EVE to go back to 8p
