Hi van, well the first thing I have realised its thats its a crap shoot so I am not sure how much wisdom will carry the day :0))
On a (slightly) more serious note, I always look at trades as individual transactions, so when I buy and then sell, I record a gain or a loss. The next trade might be in the same company and I might be buying in a higher amount quite soon after I just sold, but mentally it's irrelevant to me, that trade will win or lose on its own merits.
(I find it helps take a lot of emotion out of decision making.)
Anyway I am substantially up so far, so as much as I like to think i have my emotions under control, nevertheless there "feels" a degree of a free ride now.
The upshot I can do 180 turns very easily and quickly and not worry about it at all. (Mind you, it would be a different story if it cost me money, as I would have to look at why I kept getting it wrong.)
