Codejunkie, All I try to do is make sense of conflicting data.

I thought the Jan RNS was a bit wooly and was not expecting the SD to add much clarity which was re0inforced on the day with the that RNS. However the SD has revealed loads of new info that strates to flesh in some detail the potential of what is still to come.

So the SP should rise.... but its gone down about 20% from its recent high after greater clarity and even better results than maybe expected. What coauld cause that?

Thats what I am trying to figure out. because on the face of it its a mismatch.

You and others are too eager (imo) to label and pigeon hold posters.

I will think one thing and when new info arrives it either confirms what I thought before or might throw up new questions to be answered.

I honestly don't know how it can be any other way.

Neut, I wasn't arguing who makes and loses, simply that it read as though the SP can only decrease due to FUD.

For instance in the LFT: If someone said the SP will tank if a vaccine is produced and the rumours are it will be quite soon, that might or could be construed as FUD, Then, if the next day the news is confirmed of a vaccine and the SP does tank then it won't be FUD any more but a genuine reason for the fall.

So as I have often asked, is there ever a time here on this BB that a post that says "be careful" for XYZ reasons, can ever not be FUD based on the bias that overwhelms this board?

(And not for nothing, highlighting risk or looking at alternative scenario's might save some people from buying in at too high a price or losing money if this is new info they had not previously considered.)

Why can't it be an accurate analysis of the company's prospects?

It doesn't have to be Fear and Doubt but a better understanding of the company's financial position and prospects over the near and medium term given the market it operates in, the competition, and the chances of success and/or failure.

If you think about it, if you are convinced that this is a winner and anytime you read any view to the contrary, you think its FUD, then stop coming to this board.

If you are only interested in like minded views and there is nothing anyone can say to change your mind then just park it and wait for it to come good and save your time being here.

Hi D, yes it was a surprise to me too. Still, it will be more instructive to me to see where it closes.

The trouble is I think now, that there is no clear path to make this commercial. Sure there are pathways, but its not clear which one will be taken or when. I think this is exacerbated by AS himself.

The BB won't hear a word against him but he will have caused a lot of people to take a big hit on the LFT debacle which whether he meant it or not, pumped it to the heavens.

And he is doing it again, but this time we all hope its justified. It looks like it is, so I think its just a wait and see now, but that could be a little while. Meantime whats happening with DE5? it drives me mad! :0))

Like I say although I am in a minority of probably one, I don't trust him enough to take what he says at face value and I think there is much more he knows that he is deliberately keeping quiet about.

We will see where this finishes, but I think everyone has moved on:

Now when will it be monitised? How will it be monitised? Will there be a super dilution or a license? When will DE5 info be released? When will the trial finish so efficacy can be measured?

We are now in the next phase. Its a slog and thats the long and the short of it.

mowzer, my opinion of AS is my opinion based on whats gone before, I accept you don't agree with it.

I would make the point that people are people irrespective of the position they hold or have climbed their way to. Just because he is a scientist I don't elevate him personally onto a pedestal. He is as flawed as the rest of us.

(I know an internationally renowned, ground breaking surgeon for instance who you would not employ for his bedside manor as he sees the patient as a body, simply as away of further developing and advancing the area of research he has pioneered, but by god, you would want him to be holding the scapel. I digress.)

Given the 2 years of LFT research development, tests, RNS's and interviews as though it was a few knee jerk, off the cuff remarks is imo, rewriting history.

My bias here that puts me at odds with most is I understand I don't understand what they are doing at a technical level. (obviously I get the broad brush of it through AS's explanations), but as its never been done before and whenever anybody and I mean anybody here, starts explaining what's happening somebody will disagree and there will be a convoluted exchange, which is fine, but they both can't be right, and I don't know which one it is.

If you truly believe that it was all there in the RNS then great, I would also ask rhetorically if you like, did you believe everything that AS said about the LFT development and now with the aid of hindsight are there areas where you think he either deliberately misled or inadvertently misled?

If it can happen once can it happen again? That was my cautious approach on what seemed to me, obviously not to you, ambiguous remarks on a scripted interview.

Thats where I come from, that my bias, its caution first, and the basic questions are: will this investment increase in value and when is that likely? I can't know the answer to either, so I have to use experience and judgment to put a value on those 2 questions.

AVCT's past track record is not great: great trial, great test, no commercialisation. Will this be different? CEO very bullish (as before) results so far, exquisite (as before).

However,So far so very good, I am just more cautious than some here. To me its just another stock to hold that either will or won't come good. I use all the info I have to determine that incl. looking at the BoD's remarks, body language and tone.

We both still hold so whats the diff? we will arrive at the same destination, one way or the other.

And there you go, I explained the reason for my wanting more clarification, and now we have got it, the tribe ignores that and twists what I say to fit thaeir chant.

bitl, as i was one that was disappointed at the terminology used at the time of the the RNS/interview I am now reassured with the data shown in the slide.

However it is my opinion that AS deliberately causes this uncertainty with his choice of words.

Again in my opinion I think he might be a bit thin skinned and cannot resist an opportunity to say "up yours" effectively through his contrived and deliberate use of language after the, at the time, unabated, criticism of his stock sale and then the LFT saga.

Again unemotionally, to me, it was not unreasonable given what has happened in the past, to see the data before making assumptions one way or the other.

A continuing theme on this (and other BB's) seems to be a desire for some posters to live vicariously through the ups and and downs of the stock they have chosen and to then personalise into a Tribe for the stock, so that if you have a question on the stock then it is seen as an attack on the Tribe with the resulting name calling and all the rest of it. Which includes a desire and enjoyment of ill health, for financial wipe out and accusations of all manor crimes and derogatory personal abuse.

Your accusations is a mild part of this behaviour in conflating new news in the presentation with an attack on what was, in fact, a reasonable request to wait for clarification as at no time did was any poster ever able to clarify what the term "therapeutically relevant" meant.

The Tribe chanted its belief but it was not based on any medical definition, as it is broadlya term to show something was better than what went before.

And as I kept saying "we know it works, but how well, a little or a lot?"

I just wish people would simply calm down and not be so ..wel... tribal

FWIW on the back of the presentation which I agree had miles more data in it then I think its fair to say we were led to believe, (incl what reports we had from people present yesterday), I think the SP will rise on monday.

(My last post said that before the report was even released.)

My other take, after the wealth of data released, was that this is going to be even slower than I thought with phase 2 but it might not matter as a BO surely now must be favorite in spite of anything AVCT may want going forward.

You have to try and get over the fact that I try to make money when I buy a stock and as soon as possible. I know it matters not to you or others and you seem happy to stay with a stock for years and years even if it does not move very much, thats fine, its your choice but take a break from replying to me just because I see an opportunity to make some money in the short term eh?

I have made money in the past by buying stocks that ultimately fail with short term trades but the fact that I have been here for years should tell you that I am expectant of success here like everyone else. Yesterday was proof positive that so far so, very, good.

My point was that it looked a good bet to buy at the close because there was most likely to be released data from the meeting that would allow on closer inspection, a more positive vibe for monday's opening.

What I do or don't do is of no import to anyone here.

SP has settled into a fairly narrow trading range of (at close) 157.18p-168.4p.

Had a brief look at the 168p resistance this morning but then backed off presumably due to lack of SD info being released in time to trade on.

I though there might be a bit of buying at the death as the presentation is promised to be out before the market opens on Monday and there should be something in it to get the dot-joiners posting over the weekend.

So to me it looked a pretty good bet to get some at around 161-162.

Anyway, Monday will be another day to see how unfolds and progresses.

Well, it is what it is. There are always the 2 options for SP to take at any given time.

Perhaps the release of the SD slides/info will spark some interest but It does not look like it.

The RNS yesterday saying no new material info means that most of the clarity required to push this further is still to be released.

I don't think there are any problems but if you are a new investor then the cont. silence on the 5th DE is starting to get quite loud.

The lack of released data on a "data rich trial" that is 18 months or so in, is also a bit puzzling.

So as I have posted before this is first and foremost an investment, and therefore it is passing the "new tech" bio company start-up stage to now realising the tech works, but how well and when will it be commercialised?, and to do that we need an indication of how well it does in fact work.

Right now I am thinking if not yesterday then when? Presumably now not until the trial finishes? If it is to be sooner then that could have been said yesterday. "Precise up-to-date data will be released later next month" etc etc.

I accept that news could be released at any time but the lack of forward planning from AVCt all adds to the speculative nature of an already high risk investment, so swings are going to be the order of the day as people blow hot and cold.

So it just grinds on, but I do sometimes think that AVCT contribute needlessly to the uncertainty that surrounds its progress.

RAH, you concentrate on what you can divine about the technology, to try and forecast whats happening.

I use the SP. There is no need to be so dismissive just because others take a different path and view.

Its gone straight to a resistance level this morning (168/169p) if it goes through this then it will have a look at the recent ATH of 185p.

That was the spike after the 17th Jan news so if it goes above that, then the market will think the SD was helpful in offering more clarity/confirmation than just the RNS.

Time will tell.

Well, good for you Paul, but if there had been news that was seen as a positive enhancement on what was already known the SP would have moved up, not down.
If you think thats rubbish then how do you ever get spikes in any stock? Have we ever had a thread here titled... oh I don't know, LEAK! for instance?

Anyway, it is what it is, and I recall SB saying there will be no institutional buying unless a direct placing was on offer so any SP was not likely to move anyway on that basis.

Plenty of other fish to fry while this plays out

A close above 17.25p would be very bullish and I think would confirm a reversal was taking place. (The caveat is always it could be a false breakout however if it did fall back into a trading range I would not sell unless it fell now to 14-14.5p)

Anyway, assuming all is good, then the next big target would be a close above 22.5p which then would put the recent all time high of 25.90p in play but I would not see this as particularly significant at this stage in the great scheme of things.(the 22.5p is the one for me.) After that its about 40p but we are going back a year or so so by then the chart will have thrown up new lines and supports etc

What can get the taste buds going is that the high 10 years ago was around 1475p. I am not saying its going back there ever, but there does seem scope now for some very good appreciation. Just my opinion etc etc

Well, its now my biggest stock by far on shares owned. and my second biggest holding. Starting to think this has the best chance for overall returns. DYOR etc
