The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Do we need a picture of a rocket yet Wiggly? ;-)
Is it us? ;-)
Just to be sure, have a little lie down first. ;-)
Me the same - they can't get their heads around that there will be room for more than 2 tests for a few years. I think they're Flat Earth believers and think the end of the world is at the South Coast of the UK....they haven't considered the potential demand in the rest of the world...
Why don't you table a vote of no confidence in Boris and Hanjob instead? If they had backed this small UK Biotech with even a small amount of money we'd have launched and been selling as much as we can produce by now. It's a scandal that we have had to do it all ourselves due to not having any political links with Oxbridge or pals in Govt. My hope is it all comes out in the inquiry..
Can confirm that in the City section of the mentioned newspaper it did indeed have that small quote in relation to SNG.
I agree with Matterhorn - what today's results have shown us is that SNG will be most effective on patients that are most at risk of becoming seriously ill (or dying) due to issues with their interferon response. This is still likely to be a substantial number but it is these where the cost of SNG will be deemed most beneficial. Once a test is developed which identifies who is most at risk is when SNG will really have an impact and may well become the standard treatment.
Just like all that buying they've done previously eh?
The Yanks - what a laugh.
I've added some more at this price. The RNS was exactly what I was expecting....or should I have expected a miracle like other seem to have?
A sneaky little top-up was had today at this price, just a few hundred but couldn't resist!! ;-)
Whilst not the focus of the article, at least Interferon Beta gets a brief mention

This new story makes me think that GDR will become one of the most important tests available...

Breathe......and calm... :-)
I'll be having a cheeky little top-up at these levels, probably around £1.40 if it goes that low...
Why don't people remember that this is an opportunity for Avacta to make some nice cash from Covid, but Avacta does not exist BECAUSE of Covid. It exists as an innovative treatment for cancer!!
If you don't like their strategy then they're not going to loose sleep over it - unlike some on here..
Might be a nice buying opportunity tomorrow - this could lead to a fall

Encouraging, and the polar opposite to what Dr Deeks the downer was saying yesterday. He has a real problem with the concept of LFTs..
I think that too many on here are commenting based on what is happening in the UK. Vaccine rollout elsewhere in the world is nothing like it is in the UK, not even in the EU. People need to shift focus from the UK. Yes the US is doing well but remember there is still a significant anti vax movement over there, either conspiracy theorists or on religious grounds etc. The latter is also evident elsewhere across the world. So while the case for treatments may be somewhat reduced in the UK, focus need to shift from here and let's not forget that the vaccines are not 100% effective either and they only stop you getting seriously ill. I believe that SNG still has a massive role to play worldwide, albeit I too would like to see things moving a little quicker.
I've always had a feeling that GDR was the weakest of the Covid related stocks I hold. Either this is a great buying opportunity or it's going to fall further tomorrow. Holding what I have for now..
No deaths in patients using SNG001!
After zooming in on the picture of the slide it says there were 3 deaths during the trial.
Deaths occurred in patients randomly assigned to placebo!!
