Ahhhhh! Nice to see proper discussion clearing out the fools from this board!! Good work all. :-)
Things starting to fall into place now. Looks a good strategic move for Ineos with alternative green fuels likely sooner rather than later..

On what basis shan? That 2 vaccines can immunise the world? Haven't you read that 1 potential other vaccines has been found to be ineffective (below) and 1 in Australia has been abandoned? Stop thumping the vaccine drum for 2 minutes and read what's going on. SNG is definitely going to have its place if Phase 3 goes to plan. Have a read of this:

I think Boris should have underlined the potential damage to various sectors of the EU and the tariffs. 10% on German cars, other tariffs on French food and wine. Got to remember there will be a swing towards British producers - a recent survey suggested 34% of people would look at buying British built cars for example.
We appear to have failed miserably in communicating the damage to the EU economy, not just ours....remember we import far more from them than we export...
Probably that they're not going to mention the allergic reactions a couple of people have had to the vaccine and the new Regulator instructions as a result.
BBC are not interested in anything else - no mention of the above on their website for example...
Have you re-read your own post an noted the irony Novec? 'Leave the investing to those of us that can face the right way'. So you're an investor who has time on his hands to post on this BB and brings up old AML history like bankruptcy despite them now being owned by someone who has pretty deep pockets but unlike you doesn't believe investing in a company gives him the largest dick in the world? I just hope you are not managing other peoples money or they are in for a lot of pain. If you think we're being too positive about the prospects just put that tin foil hat on again..
A lemon with a lemon car - ironic? No one with any interest has said the company is going to be turned around in 6 months, possibly not before 24 months. But one thing I know is that the Management Team and a certain Mr Stroll Snr will do it. Although it may sound counter intuitive to you, they are probably concentrating on their money spinner the DBX rather than worrying about the Dealers and servicing cars, however their time will come as they will not want the experience of the DBX affected by poor dealers...particularly for new to the brand owners.
Superb post Dibs and absolutely hits the nail on the head. I agree that the message in the Press and on the TV is "it's ok the vaccine is here" however the have only picked up on Govt messages and indeed those from more careless scientists like JVT.....
I agree that Avacta can't dawdle but there are plenty of opportunities out there - even if it's not in the UK. The US has limited supplies of vaccine for each state and infection levels in Sweden are soaring. Let's get this right but also, let's get it done and on sale.
It's a gravy train and what's the betting most of these companies disappear once Covid infections reduce?
Sill going to be room for SNG due to supply chain issues causing delays...

Dacorum - do you actually know anything about the vaccines? You clearly haven't read anything about them as none claim to cure Covid...unless you're the Medical Messiah...
Back under your rock.
Avct still in a good place - UK might have approved a vaccine but looks like Europe will be more cautious. Paraphrasing the HSBC advert ' we are an island'..

Well said jarus. I think a lot of people in the main age groups will probably wait to see what the other vaccines in development might offer. This Pfizer vaccine is the fig leaf the Govt has been waiting for to cover it's embarrassment of the way it has handled all this.
Interesting piece from CNN on the vaccines timelines and questions the FDA might have on the AZ product. It will be enlightening to see if the UK Regulator rushes through approvals (possibly under pressure from our Govt) but the FDA holds back.

Before anyone says it - I'm not an anti-vaxxer but do believe this is being pushed hard to dig our Govt out of the hole they're in..
Earth 70000 - what a selfish git you are. Just think that in another 30 years you might be one of the people who catch a virus and are part of the section of society that you are happy to see thrown to the wolves now. Be careful what you wish for!! Money is no replacement for health.
I'm not surprised Hanjob is asking for the regulator to look at them, they are desperate to get out of the shambles they've put the country in. I just hope the regulator doesn't feel pressured. After all, if he rejects one or more it'll make the Govt policy of waiting for vaccines look more crass than it is...
Some vaccines will definitely be in trouble the more interest the press take:
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/health/medical/multiple-concerns-raised-over-oxford-s-coronavirus-vaccine-with-some-wondering-if-high-efficacy-was-a-chance-finding/ar-BB1bnUCE?ocid=msedgntp
wyndrum - you are looking at things from an investor wanting to make money viewpoint. Imagine how little the Avacta team would get done in a day if they felt the need to update the market ever time one of them farted.!
In some ways it's like shares in Aston Martin, all the posters want to know what is going on there 24/7 forgetting that the Management Team are doing what they're supposed to be doing - running the business correctly and securing it for the future. No different here.
PL75 - your comments below on protecting the NHS. That is exactly what I have taken from recent briefings from the scientists - that the goal next year is to protect the NHS by vaccinating the most vulnerable. Unfortunately the Govt, some big mouth scientists (mainly Prof Bell) and the Press have taken the stance of everything being back to normal from Easter onwards. If you listen to Whitty and Van Tam their message is subtly different, but unfortunately its impact is being reduced by all who just want to hear the word vaccine..
