The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
PL75 - his preaching is likely to make a lot of people much better off, another reason why I'll be happy to have read his posts.
I know he's a 'marmite' character on here but if this takes off early next week I'll be raising a glass to Richken who originally got me interested in Avacta and made me research the company and ultimately invest. It's a pity he and other 'originals' have been lost from LSE along the way...
Cheers Richken!
Wouldn't want to be out over the weekend.
I'm not - awesome. :-)
Back down to £1.50 on Monday then ;-)
Hahahahahahahaha! Time to start a business offering guided tours of Weatherby........ladies and gentlemen this Avacta where Sir Al made us all very well off indeed. Woohoo :-)
Those are symptoms of Covid. Perhaps you could clarify the reason for your question which might then get more responses.
Thing is you're all missing the point :-) What we should be asking is why one miserable test failed when the others were entirely accurate? Makes me wonder - production issue or some kind of error? Let's hope that the field tests meet our expectations which I have no doubt they will. Gaaa - makes me want to top up some more!! ;-)
Information has probably been suppressed by an embarrassed Govt...
Fantastic news Hu11, really pleased for him. Thanks for letting us know! :-)
I hate to say the following, but as that article shows the UK has touted any treatment other than SNG. As a result I don't believe we deserve to get any of it - the way it has been handled over here is a national disgrace. As it's the U.S. that has got behind it then I believe they should be able to secure supplies for at least the first 6 months - they deserve it. My hope is if there is a public enquiry into the handling of Covid by the UK it will prove that with earlier backing from the Govt it could have saved thousands of lives in hospitals - ones I believe did not need to be lost.
Do you think he will have combed his hair this time? :-)
If this story is correct, then I believe the case for SNG is beyond doubt and there is every possibility that the upper share price could be reached:

With this data being released I think an early EUA is highly likely if the SNG results are on a par with those seen previously.
All the best - fingers crossed that SNG does its magic!
The wording was ill-considered but I share Oil's frustration. If we had received even a small percentage of what was thrown at the vaccine makers I'm convinced it would be the go to treatment to stop deterioration. Many lives have been lost due to this blinkered Govt. RIP Sir Tom.
Well a saliva test looks to be nearing release..

Hopefully we're on their tail.

Not been trawling through the boards today due to work but has anyone posted this article? The momentum behind SNG is really developing now!
Great post Tonlin and entirely accurate. They must be scared that their vaccine or nothing strategy is going to be exposed.....if you can say it is/was a strategy..
A little late but with the potential here just had a cheeky little top-up. Captain is on the bridge! :-)
This quote is spot on and the blame should be laid squarely at the Govt door as vaccines were always their main plan to get out of this:
'Scientists from around the world have contacted Synairgen, a company I co-founded from Southampton University, to find out more – but in Britain, these developments have been overshadowed by excitement over vaccines, with novel treatments still struggling to make progress in clinical trials.'
Unfortunately this pandemic has coincided with probably the worst Health Secretary in the last 100 years - and there were some real doozies to choose from already.
Handjob says it could be 12 weeks between doses. And the narrative is how quickly the vaccines will get rid of COVID! 12 months here in the UK and much longer in larger countries like the US...
I would also like to send you my best wishes Tony. Some of us like RickKen have personal experience or reasons why the cancer treatment was always the main reason for investing. If the product helps treat even a small percentage of those with difficult cancers like you Tony, then I will look back with pride that my small investment helped a small UK company make it big and change treatment for the forceeable future. Yes I hope to make money but this is also more than that.
Lump in throat time.. :-(
