The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Whilst I admire the intentions here I'm afraid you're not going to make much headway. Why isn't our LFT well known - in my view it's because the Govt has done/and is doing a good job of supressing Avacta. Why? 1 word - Innova. I mean, how can our Govt's position on this test be so opposite to others like the FDA? I think it's because they're getting them very cheap and therefore have a view that there are plenty for people to be able to test themselves numerous time to get to the correct answer rather than use 1 Avacta LFT to get it. Bluster Boris and Hanjob and their UK test was just a smokescreen, after all the more they can keep Avacta out of mainstream knowledge the less questions there are about Innova...performance and dodgy contract.
This is why I said in a post yesterday that I hope we don't get a UK Govt contract because we're better off selling elsewhere where the product is more valued. Our Govt don't deserve to have any of our tests not a single one.
I feel better now. :-)
gbk47 & The-Lockie - start researching about which ride-on or tractor mower to get if you haven't got one already ;-)
HeleB - I agree. My only reservation though is that people are going to say "why wasn't this available before?" because I believe it could have helped massively. Still, if it turns into the go-to treatment for those who still get Covid despite being vaccinated I will be very happy!
HeleB - getting your rocket ready to launch were you? ;-)
What a sanctimonious post and what the hell does it have to do with you? Whilst you are tarring us all with the same brush about making money, have you thought that some see this as a potential route to cure cancer? Isn't that what all the charities are trying to do? You might therefore argue that we are cutting out the middle man and avoiding the enormous costs, especially CEO wages, that they deduct from what they are given before they pass it on to researchers and promising new treatments. Say what you want but if RichKen invested in Avacta because of their cancer treatments (which is what he said) and makes money from it, good on him. I'm sure he will make charitable donations from his good fortune, and by the way, he convinced me to invest as a way to remember a close friend I lost to cancer. Do not assume you know peoples motives.
Nice post sleepydave but if you look at it, it's not only Avacta that has been affected by the dodgy Govt actions. There is also another innovative British company that has been disadvantaged and forced to go it alone - SNG. The parallels are quite striking in that both have had to jump through hoops and have seemingly recd no assistance from the Govt or virological establishment, but have been content to let their product development do the talking.
Is it us then Tim? Finally? :-)
Another who thinks the world ends at Portsmouth.......you know the rest of the work is still suffering do you Hooray Henry aka Bottmzup?
cristalball - if you have one you need to give it a polish. You understand that Avacta is not just a covid play and has other products in the pipeline which should keep the share price over £1 easily...
Sharebel is just talking about the fantasy product that BRH have. The one where rampers like him have encouraged others to put their money into as a sure thing and have seen the share price crash 40% in the last couple of months whereas ours has remained fairly steady. He's a disgrace to the BB - and there's a lot of choice...
GB News - Andrew Neil's new news channel - launches on 13th June. This looks like just the kind of story to bash the Govt/establishment he would love!!
All I can say is thank god a newbie has come along to set us all straight! He clearly has an insight that no one else (including you who have researched) does..
Right, where's that panic sell button???
Ray, you seem so bitter. Have you booked a holiday to Portugal by any chance?
Yep, within days it'll be us PL75. ;-)
Luckily graking I see this from an opposite viewpoint to you, particularly in relation to the UK. As we work down the age groups for vaccinations a third wave (or it it fourth - losing count now) are going to affect the younger age groups until they've had 2 injections. Whilst they are not at a high risk of death, many may well need treatment for breathing difficulties and to avoid long Covid effects. So, far from it being a bid black cloud, it could be a silver lining being far far fever deaths but still a significant requirement for our treatment not just in the UK but other countries.
Anyone notice this at the bottom of the website?

Seems to contradict their statement half way down the page:
*This product is CE marked and available for commercial sale in the EU. This product is has not been authorized by the FDA and is currently not available for sale in the US.
Confused?
So we should be topping up?
I agree with the others - real IIs there (Investigative Investors) well done to you both. Good work scardey_cat to get the additional details - saved me from having to say 'typical of Avacta' in response to them running out! :-)
What can be bad about being able to average down further? The lower your average the more money you'll make when the share price takes off...
Nice work! :-)
