My main issues with it, is A i don't understand much about helium mining and B from what I dont understand they are still waiting for vital equipment such as a membrane... my worry is when they get this vital piece whats the next vital piece they are missing and so on. If it all pans out it could be a multiple banger, but multi bangers all come with risk otherwise they wouldn't be multibangers

Just last week helix was down close to 30% over the month. It's shot up in the week which is good for those that bought on the low but a very risky stock overall.

Market cap of helix around £20-25 million, hope it works out but could just as easily go bust...

Terry what makes you think the underwriters are stuck with shares. I thought all the shares where bought up by institutions.

Also if they had some shares with them surely they would have offloaded them when the sp went up to the 1050s

They stated in rns that post BB they would have 8.5mill shares left in issue, when the reality is 80.5mill.

Wait for an updated rns later today to correct that I suppose

I have no issues with new acquisition, but maybe not just right now after so many and such large ones in quick succession.

Hopefully future acquisition will be purely from capital generated, the company should be large enough for that now.

I am most worried re lack of BB.

This is really the time todo it, why have they stopped, shouldn't be liquidity related as recent rns would suggest highly liquid.

Isit a new acquisition he is saving capital for ?

While trump might have some valid points about industry moving out of America and trying to bring it back in house his approach really needs to be more targeted.

Introducing overnight tarrifs is not the way.

It would take any new semi conductor / car factory 5+ years to open if they started work today...

Also he needs to looks at what industries they need back, not sure a t shirt / shoe factory is the kind of industries that would "Make America Great".

These things need tact, maybe some incentives which the done with semi conductors, maybe some pressure such as need a certain percentage of components to be made in America to be sold without tariff.

Trumps history does not actually show him to be that an astute a business man, but he has proven himself a great politician, like him or hate him.

Things are still up in the air, a 90 day hold on tarrifs still means they loom large and knowing trump if someone looks at him funny he might just reintroduce. This will likely mean while some recovery will happen, it won't be back to pre tariff levels for most stocks until the air is clear.

This kind of politics does not instill stability in trade markets, I think the repercussions for American in general will be long lived. The trust between allies has been broken and this will take decades to rebuild, most economies will look to reduce there reliance on America long term. In the short term they would probably do whatever to keep trump sweet. China and E.U will be the biggest winners here and the UK might just carve out a niche position.

This is very optimistic.

I suspect both gas and oil might become depressed if we enter a recession and with the current trade war erupting this seems more likely then not now.

Maybe we can wake up and trump just tells us this is one big fat sick joke he is playing

To be fair the BB have been decent.

But I agree if you have money for BB they should be maximising it atm, as would both help stem the share price bleed and reduce long term dividend liability on the cheap. Win win

Hahaha I agree Terry, I was actually talking to a friend the day before re the market in general and expected drops. It was not something that was not foresee able but I was never a very good trader, more a buy and hold guy.

Share price drop continues, appears to have pulled some back today on high volumes which is somewhat reassuring.

Others on ftse 250 have sustained much higher drops. Let's see what happens when America markets open.

If there were to be an economic downturn and gas prices did drop, then smaller players with high debt (interest rates likely to spike with inflation) would be the most likely to fold. Thus it's a bigger risk for DEC then it would be for SHELL who could just weather a 2-3 storm.

One could argue DECs hedging would protect it, but in fire sale territory with big institutions pulling out there money won't really care about the minutiae of the details. Big debt smaller player = higher risk

This is all hypothetical and hopefully we don't even get near this level

I think the drops today are more reflective of china's response to trump and the wider market fears of a full blow trade war being 1 step closer to reality.

If this does escalate it would mean lower growth or even a recession/depression. This will inturn lead to lower oil and gas needs

Hopefully there are still a few grown up people in world economics and period of calm followed by reduction in tarrifs can be followed.

DEC is just being swept with the wider market and not much they cab do atm outside of ramping up BB which it seems they are doing

So honoured to have a whole subject post dedicated to myself.

I was just stating my opinion and was curious as to that of others. I'm not genius but found seeing others views is often helpful.

I have noticed a distinct distrust of any negative views on this board, I think it should be welcomed in all boards as you would get a more diverse set of views and would be able to make a more informed decision, after all isn't that what these boards are for.

I'll continue to monitor and if/when I'm ready might take a small slice as this could be a very large growth stock.

I suspect this will take more then a week to settle, if anything the market has further to go in some sectors.

I would expect purely American based companies such as DEC wouldn't have much to worry about and if anything higher America production would drive up gas demand.

I'm just happy trump hasn't messed around with W-8BEN, otherwise we'd be in serious hot water.

I picked up about £600 worth of shares at 999, not huge but basically reinvested the dividends.

This would be a good day to ramp up BB.
