I just pulled out of LLOYDS today at a decent profit, but now I have a huge amount in my ISA.

This looks like a great opportunity but would would be the sweatspot to buy in at.

I feel anything under 11 with 10.5 being the aim, as I can see a quick rebound back upto the 13s.

Would appreciate your input or anyone else here

I am actually surprised how well the shares have fared given the news.

Could it be an element the court has understood what the government wants but just rejected so it appears they aren't interfering ?

The idea of drilling in alaska for gas and oil does sound appealing and very highly yielding, but it all seems a gamble without more information

Nic you are right.

DEC has a lot of Wells, but the nextlvl company is new and growing organically, so as the years roll on they should be doing more and more.

From what I've read DEC is also exploring other options with the Wells such as carbon capture , hydrogen storage ect. I'm not sure how much value I hold in the above but if only a fraction is true a liability suddenly becomes an asset.

I think the oakbloke looked into the number previously and he was happy the company should have enough funds after paying all debt/cost to cover the ARO. Long term ARO is still a issue without a clear solution but for the next 4 years I think DEC will leave it on the back burner..... my goals with DEC are currently only 4 years long as well

Terry makes some valid points, although I do agree the general bigger picture is looking quite rosie for the company.

I've got 20k of this year's isa , might add more into dec as I feel the long term outlook is much better now

What ever you political stance on Trump is, he is clearly volatile and can be helpful one day and your worst enemy the next.

The thing I dislike about him is not his policies but how he goes about doing them, always taking a short cut which means what ever he has done can just as easily be undone once he is out of office. Real policy changes take time, effort and focus.... I don't think he has those qualities in abundance.

I think once a company reaches the size of dec, post merger, it would make a lot of sense of doing your own drilling/joint ventures. As you have all this land with proven reserves and the best knowledge of where to drill+ returns would be greater. They also would find it difficult to maintain/grown with just old well acquisitions as they did in the past

Someone mentioned here the reason for the share price decline could be a leak of possible new acquisition, looks spot on.

Overall the mood music is this is a good deal, time will tell but DEC is really ramping up as a company. I just hope they can deal with all this added work ..

I'm not sure with Trump dumping alot of green incentives what this means for Dec's methane capture model and if this is factor ?

The customer was offered something and then as an adult they decided if they wished to continue or not. The customer should not be in line for any compensation.

If any fines are are decided on, it should be a set amount to the FCA and they can decide what todo with it. Good luck going through millions/billions of pages to decide who gets what

This is news is very welcome and better then nothing.

The FCA were fully aware of all that was happening and did not act until few years later, hpw is this the lenders responsibility, the FCA should have intervened earlier if they were not happy with the practice.

The customer always had the option of getting their own finance or seeking another garage for a deal.

Typically 15% is unhedged. I'm not sure what this mix is with all the recent acquisition and hpw ling the hedges are being held for. But generally it's a good time to rework some positions and secure better future prices

Terry I appreciate your frustration but the job of the ceo is to ensure the company is well run and able to handle headwinds in the future. It should never been to ensure the share price rises at all costs, as often this will result in a weak company that can not handle headwinds.

DEC has suffered recently but appears to be coming out the other end much stronger with lots more gas and oil acquisitions at very attractive prices. With time I'm sure you can recoup your paper losses and move elsewhere (whatever your risk appetite might be)

This seems like a good deal and most impressively/finally DEC is making acquisition from free cash flow rather then new loans /equity.

I would be happy for them to continue making such purchases if no debt is acquired with it.

Looks like 2025 will be a good year for DEC

We where never tied down to the eu regarding financial issues, we always had the bank of England and the pound.

What the eu did provide was well educated and cheap western labour (Portuguese, Spanish nurses / Polish, Romania builders), free trade agreements and no red tape.

I can not forsea how we would be better outside the eu for the next 20 years, beyond that who knows

I dont want to get to drawn into brexit, but I think it was clear to all that economically we would be worse off. People just refused to accept it.

Most people voted for bs slogans and bigoted views, however they try to hide it. Brexit is actually one of the leading reasons I'm considering leaving the UK

I think given recent events in the middle east and the likely fall out from the Asad regime demise will probably put pressure on oil/gas prices for a few years to come
