I’m quite happy for you to mention it, nolupus. Do you think if immupharma sign a deal with a large biopharma, with a large upfront payment and attached milestones, that anybody is going to care? I suspect if a deal is signed and a phase 3 is attached, the shares will be 20p+. If they sign a deal and a phase 1 is attached, the shares will be 10p+. But my own view is there is little reason to assume we go back to phase 1. The FDA were happy for them to go ahead with phase 3, and that was prior to the new research findings which should further instruct that phase 3. Ps as far as i recall avion were included as partners in the last report, you just have to read it. ATB

Morri - they HAVE said it. Read the last report. Listen to the interviews. And I don’t believe yesterday’s RNS was a rehash. Read the Sebastien Goudreau quote from January and the one yesterday, and it is pretty clear he is getting MORE confidence. GLA DYOR

I agree professor. And companies like immupharma need access to equity markets and capital to continue their work, develop innovative treatments and reach profitability. It’s incredible listening to the schmuck on here, trying day after day to unsettle holders, even though they know it will impact access to funding. Perhaps these people believe that Sebastien Goudreau isn’t real, and doesn’t require funding/salary. Perhaps they just deceive themselves. A prime example of the damage of shorting and misinformation, and empowering the wrong sort of people. GLA DYOR

It’s a £20m punt on two high potential late stage assets. Not exactly overpriced or controversial. So why the feck are they here? Ho hum :)

None of this is interesting, peter. The world has moved on. Autoimmune is a hot area, large deals are being signed, immupharma themselves are talking to large pharma under CDA’s, the IP is developing and being proven up, the CSO is increasingly vocal about the potential. The science here originated at the CNRS - one of the largest research organisations in the world - the technology has already attracted large pharma, with Cephalon agreeing a $30m+ upfront and half a billion milestone package prior to being taken over. Now the technology is coming back into focus - a better trial, larger dose, proved up IP… At the same time the market cap is very low for such late stage assets… There is simply nothing in what you present that explains the strength of conviction you have. It is all very odd. Why such conviction, it just doesn’t add up? GLA DYOR

Geezer - I’m afraid peter hasn’t shared anything that explains his level of conviction. If he knows anything worthwhile (which I doubt) he is keeping it to himself. Today’s RNS was good news - the CSO showing a level of confidence about new data which, unless someone can correct me, he has not displayed before. On top of multiple CDA’s being signed, things are looking positive and i remain a happy holder. ATB

Peterpharma does sound like an amateur. The whole idea of the preclinical research is to improve understanding of the moa, thus making it more convincing to potential partners. It is about adding colour and detail and consequently increasing the conviction that the drug works and the trial can be designed to meet that endpoint. So they may have believed the moa worked 10 years ago, but they now have more proof. It’s not difficult to understand. Furthermore, the new trial is going to be run with a dose 15x+ higher than in the last trial. Surely even amateur Pete can work out that if you multiply the dose by that amount, then you might get a different result? Is this really all amateur Pete has got, because it is bizarre that someone with so little displayed knowledge has such high conviction. Just sayin’ :)

I think the issue is that tiger is clever and funny, lollywally. But you not clever and funny. I know you will find that unbelievable, but…

Poor old petepharma, getting his knickers in a knot again. So the only thing they’ve proven up is the MOA of a molecule that may have efficacy in a broader range of disease than previously thought. Oh well, if thats all.. :)

Of course, no drug or moa is proven until it passes a phase 3 trial. But it sounds like the results referred to in today’s RNS represent a big step forward. And most importantly, a big step forward toward convincing partners of the potential efficacy. GLA

The reason share prices rarely reflect the value of something, is because the world is awash with “avocet”-types, who cry wolf before they’ve even considered what has been released. I agree - today’s news is presumably based on new research results and sounds like great news for patients and shareholders. The CSO quote is particularly encouraging IMO GLA DYOR

Good grief. How many avocets have I seen on the walk up from 1.3p?! Another disinterested cliche with nothing more original to add than that “it’s aim so it’s going down”. Does he even know what immupharma does ?! :)

Over 400m Immupharma shares were traded in January, which rather puts the 50m sharing agreement into perspective. Circa £20m market cap and the probability of success is rising. Phase 3 assets. It is a story that can really garner interest and right now the newsflow is moving in the right direction.. GLA DYOR etc

Presumably they are talking about new data, and the probability of success appears to have risen considerably… The last part of this quote is particularly noteworthy, given it is coming from a scientist who has dedicated his career to autoimmune conditions.. Xviolet - a 10-15% raise is small by aim standards, that’s one question answered. And regarding “i still can't work out if trial on or trial off is priced into the raise” - I don’t think anyone can really understand what you mean. Obviously if IMM announce the trial is on, then the shares are likely to rise materially.
