As reported last week, Exxon have opted not to go for a share buy-back programme, unlike Shell. And others have explained to us all how in terms of tax, the supermajors will want any big acquisition to take place before Christmas. So some kind of deal is on its way in the not too distant future. And I agree with duster that it may well be for a percentage of block 12. So it won’t be Madpunter’s prediction that come true in the short term, but a number of our Christmas predictions, ranging from say 2p up to 10p, just might come true. In the long term however, who knows, Madpunter may yet be right! GLA

Saw yesterday that Exxon’s results were excellent and better than expected. Interestingly, they have decided not to embark on a share buy back programme, unlike the other super majors. How did it affect you? Was it so negative? The sp went up! Maybe there were some shenanigans prior to the this raise, but if you didn't sell it didn't matter. You may have picked up a few cheap as a result. I'm on HL, so certainly wasn't asked to participate. But it seems to AP has had an opportunity in Zimbabwe to pick up something really big for us all. And from now on, the only way is up. And I agree with many of the others, maybe if you do feel so negative regarding this share, it's time to move on, or at least go and moan on another BB.

I’ll try again. I meant to say that i’ve Never heard of Baker Hughes, but given my limited knowledge, why am I surprised? Now that the Tarabani major has been made public knowledge, are we still expecting Exxon to be the major for the gas? GLA

I just sold a few other shares, to buy just shy of £3000 more FRR shares. Bought at 13:22 for .39, on a spread of 0.39/0.4, but showing up as a sell. Definitely a buy though!

Some great posts last night, thanks to all concerned. There will definitely be some buying of FRR shares early doors this morning. How big a spike it will be is anyone’s guess. It should be big, but who knows. Personally i’m hoping to get another chance to top-up later in the week when some more cash becomes available (but let’s be fair, I’ll be happy with a massive re-rate whenever it comes!) GLA

An additional question. This was obviously done in advance, possible day or two ago. Did the Exxon announcement re their deal in West Georgia force their hand a bit, and force them to release this today, either to reassure PIs not to worry or because it really is going to go bang tomorrow. I suspect the 1st possibility is the most likely, but I'm more excited by the 2nd possibility.

Pure speculation I know, but what if the 15 million seller became a 10 million seller because they have finally run out of shares. The reason for the slow trickle of shares was to keep the sp relatively healthy in the meantime, and not to disrupt the market too much in the process. Following on from other theories tonight, does that mean they now have the green light to make the announcement? GLA

daniel1son - I'm also hoping for the big announcement tomorrow morning. By pure fluke, I topped up £2000 this morning and £3000 this afternoon, both at around .38, so here's hoping.

I just bought £2000 worth of Frr shares, but the buy price was under 0.38, so either I've timed it exceptionally well (which I doubt), or we may have a bit longer to wait for the big rise. But my confidence is still high, hence the top-up purchase today.

And are you one of the three good posters RJD6? If not, why have you posted? You can’t have it both ways.
