Woke up early and couldn’t resist a quick look at the Zimbabwean press. The 2 companies still not named but it does state that the Zimbabwean Government realises that it’s diamond policy is linked to its foreign policy. All I’d add to this exciting exchange would be that Jayfella is probably our most knowledgeable poster with regard to Zimbabwe and he has put Vast in the mix to possibly be one of the four. So here’s hoping that he’s right....

Cheers to everyone who has posted their comments on today’s conference call, particularly FHP. Very helpful to those of us who had no chance to listen this morning. I agree with a lot of what you’ve said Ian. It’s time to be patient here, and whilst we all will be wishing we’d sold quickly on the day of the BP licence, I for one didn’t and that means I’m in for the long haul. The promised jam hasn’t materialised yet but hopefully it will one day soon. Marange may yet turn out to be game-changer and an RNS on Monday morning would cheer a lot of us up.

Clearly today wasn’t a great day: the share price doesn’t lie. On the other hand, I suspect this has indeed been oversold today and we are due a bounce on Monday. I also think that AP has decided to release the quarterlies in advance of the big marange news next week. Today’s sellers may well have jumped too soon. Time will tell whether Vast really has been worth waiting for. GLA

The one thing you can say about pyro is that he does have original ideas and thoughts. About you Bedex, and me for that matter (!), I’m not so sure. Keep posting pyro. Your insight is always welcomed.

Good to get away from talk of Outrider and back to O&G. Shows that someone is serious here. As to who’s paying for it, it could be us, BH or the as yet unknown super major. Any guesses?

MP - what do you think is the reason for the apparent cessation of these auctions? I would have thought that with continued testing they would have continued to produce oil, which in turn would need to be sold. Any ideas? You’ve been very good in the past at coming up with theories which turn out to be very close to the truth.

The fall in the pound will be good for FRR given that we’re paid in dollars.

I think it’s probably good news that AP hasn’t launched into any new Zimbabwean projects. The aim in the short term is to make sure we have enough cash to fund all our present ventures. Many of these look very promising indeed and are the reason for my holding, but we need to be able to pay our way until they start to generate cash for Vast.
