Because if they tried to buy £800000 worth of shares they would never get them at the price of 0.645. The price would be much higher. The ii (if it was one) was able to cheaply buy into the market at a set price. What to us PIs looks like a normal price would look like a decidedly cheap price to anyone want to buy in big.

I agree Tom. Hopefully a big leap tomorrow on the back of the Daily Mail Diamond story, followed by a BP licence announcement on Wednesday doubling the new share price. Maybe we will get close to 2p by the end of the week....

I’m still hoping one day to regret having put so much money into a SIPP rather than an ISA - if this multibags it would be a nice problem to have broken through the one million or so pounds lifetime limit for my SIPP! It’s like that advert that I always hear on the radio for the lottery, about losing your keys and not sure if you’ve left them by the swimming pool or the tennis court. A nice problem to have....

I hope to have the same dilemma throbber (and with any luck quite soon). Lots of shares in Vast at the moment and keep having to reassure the wife that these make up for my other dodgy investments! I think she’d prefer it if I went back to the FTSE but playing the waiting game for now.

Yes I agree - the norm for a trader would be to not want to be out of the market in case of a Monday morning RNS. With the bank holiday, in the UK but not Romania, there is a whole day of news that can occur before they could buy back in.

"In 2006 the Group registered several mining claims in Marange under shelf companies. At that time the Group was not aware that the shelf companies had not actually been registered. In Zimbabwe the registration process had started but the companies were only registered a short period after the claims were registered in their names. After the registration of the claims 120,031.87 carats of diamonds were acquired from the claims. The Zimbabwe Mining Commissioner subsequently cancelled the registration of the claims on the instructions of the Minister of Mines. The Group instituted proceedings in the Zimbabwe High Court challenging the cancellations of the registration of the claims. The Zimbabwe High Court handed down a judgement declaring that the cancellations were invalid and that the Group legally held the claims. The High Court also ordered that the diamonds, which had been seized from the Group’s o ces in Harare, should be returned.
The Minister of Mines instructed the Attorney General to note an appeal to the Supreme Court. The appeal was noted but the Attorney General renounced agency because he considered that there were no valid grounds of appeal. The diamonds that were seized from the Group were not returned. They are being held in the vault of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe."

Just wondering whether we still have claim to these missing diamonds and if they are still in the bank vault. Does anyone know?
