What is the problem with shorting AIM stocks?

I'd agree with what you said having read all the data. Just wish I had the experience to realise that situations like this are actually possible. Being a newbie, I've not had the pleasure of seeing something that looks obviously a winner going from a low to a high price.

Yes, I couldn't care less about shorting. So the share price goes down in the short term? I don't care. It will recover and travel beyond the pre-shorting price when my long term beliefs in the company are fulfilled.

Cookiecrew2019, what are these regs you speak of? Sorry I haven't been following things on SOLG recently.

I just wish Secker would say something, anything, positive to suggest that they are making inroads to funding for Sonora (or buying out Zinnwald). Obviously if he said that they had got funding, the SP would rocket and I would be too late to invest, but at the moment this stock is a black box and I have no idea what is going on inside it.

Damnit PS, just give us an inkling of what work is being done behind the scenes and you may find some new investors!!!

BTW, does anyone know when KDNC will have finished selling off their shares?

It says it was due to "difficult market conditions". It's good to see that PS definitely has the practical skills to get a mine going. Not looking great on the financing side though fingers crossed Citigroup will sort that out.

A bit of sleuthing shows the Canada Lithium website went dead in March 2014. Canada Lithium merged with Sirocco Mining (iodine miner - no idea why you would merge with this!) in 2014 (roughly 50/50):

I think this became RB Energy Inc. which I have a feeling went bankrupt as RB Energy's website displayed a link to an insolvency website. More sleuthing, and we see the Quebec lithium mine that Canada Lithium originally worked on got shut down about October 2014 due to lack of financing as you say:

Looks like they made one or two shipments of mined lithium.

It shouldn't take that much effort to work all this out! I suppose it is not really something you would want on your CV....

Thanks B-up. I stand corrected on the dates but confusion is never a good thing wherever it comes from. The comms thing is more of a gut feeling and not factual. Solg has some pretty good presentations out there of what they've been up to. Looking at Google maps for updates doesn't really cut it for me (as someone suggested).

As I say, I hope to be proudly announcing my investment in BCN shortly after a bit more reading. I have enough high risk/high reward investments already so hope I can get myself convinced this is less risky.

My pot luck theory comes from several things:
1) PS's poor comms and constant Twittering to say "Oooh look isn't lithium popular" without talking up his own company with facts and photos (I compare this to Solgold which has excellent detailed info about the operations)
2) The funding dragging on and on. When PS originally got Citigroup on the case, he said it would be done by "first quarter of 2019" (source: November RNS), but now we are looking at December 2019 (source: forum poster who asked BCN for clarification on a recent RNS update, forget who).
3) No new strategic investors. Just the same old Sultan of Oman (?) and Hanwa (off top of my head).

The big risk is losing Zinnwald which would be an arse. This is the imminent danger if funding is not secured. What is going on with Zinnwald anyway? I thought he was spinning it off into a separate company.

So those are all my current thoughts. Sorry to be a downer. It could all be turned around instantly by Citigroup getting funding from someone with deep pockets. Given that I was thinking of buying in at 40p I suppose I should throw a few grand at this. I've got some more reading to do before I do though.

I hold firm with my VHS vs Betamax comment. Lithium is Betamax and IMO it has already won. I see this board with lots of very lucky people riding the wave of a company managing to get a mine going just as its raw material rocketed in price due to Chinese legislation.

You are entirely at the mercy of the Vanadium price and honestly while I see the techical benefits of VFRBs, Lithium will win due to being cheaper. Don't delude yourselves the world will magically adopt VFRB. It won't IMO. Lithium will be adopted though and itself will have technological improvements that make it more competitive technically-speaking with VFRBs.

The placing does not need to be done quickly. They have $3 million on hand.

I still haven't bought in but am watching closely. What I'd really like in order to invest is much better comms from PS and ideally some documentary evidence of what is going on at the pilot plant. At the moment I just have some numbers in a spreadsheet but I'd really like a PDF showing in detail all the work that has been happening to date.

Some people have said they will only invest once they know that funding is working out but it will be far too late by then and the price will have gone into orbit. Now is the time to buy, if at all. I know this myself but it is just too much down to pot luck ATM.
