Ocado Group plc ("Ocado") has signed a partnership agreement with The Kroger Co. ("Kroger") under which Ocado's technology will be used in the US exclusively by Kroger for grocery and other food distribution related activities.
Ocado and Kroger have agreed to the following:
● Ocado believes Kroger to be the grocer best-positioned to win in US grocery and will discontinue discussions with other US-based retailers
● Kroger agrees to pay monthly exclusivity and consultancy fees which will offset in part the total fees that are expected to be agreed between the two parties
● An overall services agreement will be negotiated to provide for the drawdown of multiple CFCs across the US, on the basis of standard Ocado OSP terms
● Kroger will subscribe for up to 33,146,200 new ordinary shares in the capital of Ocado, equivalent to 5% of the existing issued share capital of Ocado, at a value of £183m.
Kroger and Ocado are already working to identify the first three sites in 2018 for development of new, automated warehouse facilities in the US, and will identify up to a total of 20 over the first three years of the agreement. In the event of a failure to commit to the target capacity, Kroger will pay compensation to Ocado.
In the longer term, Kroger will retain exclusivity in the US conditional on it meeting market share targets or ordering an agreed number of CFCs per annum.
Kroger needs to sh*t or get off the pot. Amazon awaits once/if they have got out the way.
You have some quality posts Sangijuelas1. Thanks for the links and summaries.
I don't have a problem with shorts and I think it's rather pointless to try and stop it. Shorts are mainly useful for tree-shaking but if you're investing in a company long term for solid reasons then shorts are no bother.
If it weren't for the shorts I might be considering selling, but it's nice that I can visit a website and see a clear reason contributing to the drop:

This is simply not possible. Valueplay told me Ocado was screwed.
Good luck with that PI_Winner. Did you see my post a few days ago about Valueplay showing his cards? He'll be gone when the price jumps up again.
Mental note: do not invite Valueplay to my birthday party.
I still read Valueplay's posts but as I have said recently, he has shown his cards and 2 of his posts in particular showed some factual problems. I wonder who or what is behind him as the posts he puts up are mostly speculation and recently a lot of repetition about Kroger. People on this board own bugger all shares in the grand scheme of things so it's strange that he posts in this way so much.
We know Kroger has withdrawn from some distribution sites that do not use Ocado tech. We know that. It serves no useful purpose repeating that fact apart from persuading board members to sell their shares.
Shorts are at a pretty flipping high rate, even for Ocado! These are the declared ones but there are probably many other smaller shorts too:

Unfortunately Valueplay, you've just accidentally shown your cards with the incorrect comment about Ocado having tech in the spokes. Ooops!
I used to take your comments as part of my daily diet of posts from both sides of the fence but with this comment and with a previous one where you mixed up EBITDA with profit forecasts, I am seriously questioning your motivations with what appears to be 100% negative posts.
Yet another post devoid of actual information. Blocked!
I agree with what you say however there is a silver lining if Kroger withdraw...
Amazon will almost certainly step into the fold. Possibly we are looking at a rocky road in the short term, but if Kroger "get off the pot" then finally we can have Amazon start buying in.
It is concerning, but Kroger have recently emphasised their commitment to e-commerce and I assume that means to include Ocado.
You have over 1000 posts. How do you not realise that share price has no correlation whatsoever on how correctly a company is valued?
Incorrect... they point to little EBITDA but not necessarily little profit. The closure of Hatfield and opening of the better-placed and more efficient Luton CFC will certainly help profit. We also do not know what Kroger's next move is, nor if other vendors will sign up like the pharmaceutical one did at the end of last year. Saudi Arabia has potential too - they are chucking money into anything AI/robotics related.
As ever, this is a sentiment-based stock. Only a separation of Ocado Retail from Solutions will give a short term unsynergistic dramatic rise in share price.
And while I'm here, my increase in filtering of new users has reached an all time high with all the bot-like pumping posts with no useful information.
Why is the AI market leading? Because they can tell that if a customer bought eggs last week they'll buy them next week? INCREDIBLE!!!
He has a hell of a nerve asking for more salary when the M&S payment rubbish is going on. He needs to actually show some leadership (i.e. get the payment issue resolved) before asking for a better salary.
Parcels and mail sorting is already massively automated and I sincerely doubt they could do much better.
I'm certain you're right SFH300. Also perhaps for safety too.
