It's just running on the Pi CPU. Much cheaper to buy an old Intel NUC and run it on that than run it on a Pi.

Then I read an article at the India Times about the price rise being due to Eben buying a massive amount of shares (it was £20k most recently).

It is pretty obvious to me that Dowgate are offloading everything. They slowly built a position roughly 1% at a time peaking in about March last year, and now they seem to have decided it's time to move on IMO. Do you really think they would ditch just 2.4% of the company and think "yeah, we just needed to reduce our holding slightly".

IMO they would either be all in or all out, particularly with such a small company as TRT.

I personally and most interested in results day. If it looks okay then, I'll keep my hobby holding.

Ocado's only hope is that pressure to reduce immigration will increase the cost of labour and make Doordash/in-store-fulfilment unprofitable. Who know where that crossover will happen because right now cheap labour is plenty.

Ocado is reaping the result of over-selling to markets that would not actually be profitable and now those CFCs are closing. I see this as a time of rebalancing with new CFCs opening in places where they will actually make a profit and unprofitable ones close. Would have been good if they only opened the profitable ones from day one of course.

Any CPU can run AI algorithms. The RPI chips don't even have any specific AI acceleration instructions in (NPUs) unlike Intel chips which are sold for consumer PCs which are then labelled as "Copilot Ready" by Microsoft as they have specific AI acceleration built in.

The Hailo hat is a plug in board that uses a Google TPU and none of the special AI hardware is made by RPI.

Now, if RPI actually designed an AI ASIC I would be impressed.

I too think one day RPI will be bought but there is a big difference between Darktrace and RPI. RPI is not "AI" and it is not "cyber". Darktrace had the sweet spot of being both of these and so got mega hyped (i.e. overvalued IMO).

RPI does not have this hype except perhaps a cult of retail investors who have played around with them and love their products.

IPO was 280p. If RPI can bring out a very popular product (something to usurp ESP32 would be nice) in a new market then I think we are looking at 200p.

If RPI plods along generating cash as it always has done with no products that enter new markets (nothing wrong with that except for investors!), IMO we could be looking at half that, i.e. 100p.

It really is/was massively overvalued unfortunately and I myself was taken away by this excitement. :-(
