Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Been reading Nettles and Sven's posts with interest. Not yet invested here but thinking about it.
A quick trip over to Companies House tells me that RR owns 86% of RR SMR as of the latest Confirmation Statement. Surprised this is not made clear in any of the publicity I've seen.
So investing in RR Holdings basically is as near as you can get to investing in RR SMR as a punter IMO.
Apologies, he has bought 0.2 of what I said previously. i.e. he just bought ~£100k.
But he owns a lot more of course.
Scott bought £475k which isn't the worst sign in the world for SOLG!
Several times during the recent SOLG online presentation, Scott said that it didn't matter which way the election went for us. Sorry don't have a link to the presentation but look at the recent RNSs.
Eloro, I was interested in the comment you made about a lawsuit and Scott Caldwell. I did some Googling and came across this:
https://guyanachronicle.com/2020/03/24/guyana-goldfields-promises-to-fight-court-action-filed-in-canada/
Didn't find any other links, just this one. Seems to be Scott and another character who are duking it out. Apparently it "has not been certified by the court as a class action" yet.
FWIW I am pro Scott. he claims to own a reasonable amount of SOLG shares which is good to see.
Now 7%...
Sell, probably by me. I'm out!
Sounds good for Nanogenics.
N4P has spent ages marketing and trialling Nuvec and now it just goes off and buys a company selling a totally separate RNA delivery method. IMO it makes no sense unless you've basically given up on Nuvec.
I would understand the purchase if it resulted in acquiring knowledge or tech to make Nuvec more effective somehow but it seems the only synergy is that maybe you can do testing for both systems at the same time. One system uses lipids to deliver RNA, the other silica nanomolecules IIRC. This purchase seems a distraction from focussing on Nuvec.
I also would have thought that Nanogenics could stand on its own two feet if it had a really good product and in that case it would be a much more expensive company to purchase. Can anyone explain what benefits this purchase does to help promote Nuvec?
Pip13: but we have 2 delivery systems now. Where is the benefit? Is it that we can offer customers a choice between the 2?
I had a google for "Nigel Theobald" and "Jonathan Lane" to see if there was a link between the two. This is one of the websites that came up (go to page 17 of the embedded presentation):
https://docplayer.net/103764816-Participants-14-participants-for-cell-and-gene-therapy-matchmaking-event-1-25.html
I'm confused as to why N4P would buy them because Nanogenics appears to my non-expert eye to be doing exactly what N4P are doing but with (presumably) a different patented nanoparticle.
If N4P's nanoparticle works, why buy a different (effectively) competing company?
All my own speculation and guesswork etc etc.
I should have posted that link myself yesterday as it was the one I read when I said he needs to get cash ASAP.
Are you saying that someone else holding >25.5% of shares would be in the market for his 24.5%? Presumably DT has that holding and could get a majority stake in one fell swoop if Drahi sold his shares to DT?
According to all the articles I've read, Drahi needs money to cover his problems with Altice so why the heck would he *buy* BT? Much more likely to sell his stake IMO.
Don't forget mini nuclear power plants. My friend who works in the industry says they're "actually really good".
Flow batteries are certainly the future for grid storage. Their re-usability makes them second to none if you actually want to recycle the materials when you've finished! Lithium just goes in the bin at the moment as far as I am aware.
Are we expecting a big rise on 2nd August as people buy to get the dividend?
Or is this already priced in, and there will be a drop after the dividend is paid?
New to this dividend stuff... Thank you.
This sort of makes sense.... but what happens at the end of this all when they have to buy back shares that they have shorted? Surely they lose massively?
If they bought back their shorts now, in the future they would lose much less money assuming the price went up.
Amateur! I'm in 25p club! :-D
I am deeply pessimistic short term. I think there is going to be some pain tomorrow in the results. Quote me on this!
Wait... Blackrock are long as well? How the heck does that work?
Apologies for my noobiness.
