I'm expecting much more than double if it passes at the FDA.

I also believe that the drug will get approved by the FDA, perhaps with caveats and if that doesn't work out there is no back up plan apart from sell on the IP.

I would speculate that the reason for just going for FDA approval is that this is the biggest market for the drug. After FDA approval they can chase it in Europe.

Certainly triggered my stop loss though I'm surprised it wasn't triggered for the last 2 weeks as the SP has hovered pretty flipping close to it!

I am getting back in to this in a few days' time once the dust has settled a bit. Just sold my BCN on a stop loss so got some money knocking around.

Good to see you back Vascular. Yes you've hit the nail on the head. It was pretty predictable that the share price would spike due to the Type A meeting RNS so the very fact they did not sell into that is yet another indicator of positive sentiment in the management team.

I'm a LTH so don't care too much about day to day stuff. This is still a rocket ship fuelled and ready to take off IMO.

I've had a google and apparently you can indeed convert Zinnwaldite into LiCO3 so I stand corrected, however I am amazed this works given the stability of LiF:

Endion, I think you (and others I've seen posting) need to realise that not all mined lithium is the same. I used to think that Sonora was the same as Zinnwald but they are very different.

Zinnwald = Zinnwaldite = LiF. Think back to chemistry GCSE. Lithium and fluorium are 2 of the most reactive elements and take massive amount of power to convert to raw lithium. Hence Zinnwald's "lithium" can only be used for optics, polymer LEDs, nuclear reactors (thanks wikipedia). i.e. definitely not batteries. However it does have a higher selling price than lithium carbonate. I have not heard of any increasing market for this although there are more LEDs nowadays so who knows.

Sonora = lithium carbonate and this _is_ the stuff of car batteries. The market looks like it will go mental fairly soon.

Just realised I've answered my own question. I think the linked page I originally gave embellished the meeting descriptions as even in the official FDA meeting document it doesn't mention anything about the meeting being open. :-/

Good question. Official term is "Type A" meeting.

"Type A Meeting – is a meeting that is "immediately necessary for an otherwise stalled drug development program to proceed." This type of meeting refers to meetings to resolve disputes, talk about clinical holds, special protocols. Think of them as a "Type A Personality" meetings. They should be scheduled within 30 days of the time that FDA gets a written request for a meeting."

Is the FDA CRL meeting going to be livestreamed or at least have its minutes published immediately afterwards? I ask because someone posted this about the FDA misusing CRLs:

And in it, there is this passage:

"Request an Opportunity for a Hearing

The applicant can request the opportunity to meet with the FDA
to discuss whether there are grounds for denying the application under
§ 505(d) and (j). However, applicants should be warned that these
hearings are open and public hearings, and granting the hearing does not
bind the FDA to actually reconsider the application."

I don't think we are due any big surprises soon - surely they would come during clinical trials? Hopefully Adelaide will report back saying it works as already tested and is suitable for a "proper" (not sure which phase... I lose track) clinical trial. This would be a nice positive to keep sentiment good.

Rocket, may I ask, are you an experienced investor? I'm a newbie so take everything with a pinch of salt.

Looking into the black box of BCN, the only changes I see are KDNC having almost run out of shares to sell (at all time lows), a vaguely worded RNS and Southern Copper saying that maybe they had a visit to BCN's Sonora mine (are there other companies' mines there?).

I keep wondering, has all that much changed? Is this how the world works - you get vague hints that altogether give something more concrete leading to a share price increase?

Or has nothing actually changed apart from Citi taking their fees... decisions decisions....

I hadn't previously realised that the meeting was not guaranteed and I have to wonder why did no one post this info before? I wonder what other surprises we have in store.

What a crazy day. Feels a bit like a dream to a newbie like me, though maybe only a taster of what it will feel like if if we get approved...

Holy shiz snacks. This is very exciting news. And funnily enough, the loan was approved on March 12th which is precisely the day that the BCN share price had its mini-rocket.

I've been doing some research (Googling) on this Southern Copper business. Despite it sounding dodgy it does look like they are genuinely interested however I always have my doubts when BCN is concerned that it could be some dodgy ramping scheme.

Fingers crossed it's genuine because if it is, I am surprised the price has not already rocketed. Actually, on second thoughts I'm not as KDNC's epic share sale has probably absorbed all the rocket's exhaust.

I have been following BCN very closely for months without having a position but I got in recently after it appeared KDNC had stopped selling off their shares (they still have loads of shares left to sell though). This was more of a trading position for me than a long term one as I believe the CE Secker still needs to sort his life out - he doesn't have a great track record in securing funding....

Take great care listening to what Bottmzup says (echoing Strider4's sentiments): the 100% gain he claimed was only possible if you got at the very lowest of the low point of its crash at 12.5p (lowest I saw being bought and only for ~30 minutes) and sold out at the top which was only reached again, briefly. The spread is yo-yoing like bonkers too.
