Bermudashorts, I find it hard to accept that she doesn't know the result of the scan. Especially as she has so much invested in the result. She would have interacted so much with the staff in the radiology department immediately pre/post scan. I cant believe that she didn't ask for the result - which is instant. Although protocol states that the scan must be "reported on " by a consultant or senior registrar prior to the patient being told formally, there is often simple non verbal communication that accompanies the standard "we need to have the scan reported before we can tell you the results" ..... A friendly squeeze of the hand ....a smile...while telling the patient "try not to worry too much" ...believe me in these situations that can say it all. So perhaps she "knows " the result but hasn't been told the result ...if you get what i mean.
Personally, if the scan went ahead on the 30th I believe that her lead consultant would have told her the result by now but Scancell have requested her not to post on the forum.
