AK2009, if you go on the London Stock Exchange website you can views the trades from the opening bell. I don’t know if there were huge sells last night - and there could have been some this morning that won’t be reported until tomorrow or even Friday. But it is clear that it opened with a very big gap down to around £3, from a £3.47 close last night. And that seemed enough to trigger a wave of stop losses. There were a few buying rallies, they didn’t get over £3.05 roughly before being swamped with sells. So after the first five minutes, it looks like a load of nervous nellies sold, which might then have triggered further stop losses. But buys seemed to outweigh sells all day, so that drop does look suspiciously like a fishing trip for stops.

Come on, it’s a real rush, haven’t felt this good in years.

ODX and AVCT both posted new highs this week when they released news. £5.17 is the year high posted here so far. Waiting for news.

You have obviously never dealt with the govt. I worked in a fairly senior position on Whitehall fir a while. The govt has mandated the lockdown. The economy is in free fall. Money will not be a concern here. The idea that ODX might need £1m, the Govt can’t meet that, and will take 2 months to cough up their share is simply preposterous. £1m for the Govt isn’t even a rounding error. The consortium will have whatever they need to try and dig Matt Hancuck out of his hole. And get us out of lockdown and back to work. We are just not in a normal, AIM company ramp, situation.

A large scale diagnostic industry, not just fir now, but for any future outbreaks too. This is about national resilience to threats that are clear and present, not maybe, in a hundred years.

I got very ill at the end of Jan. it was quick, but severe, and left me short of breathe and with a persistent dry cough. So bad I went to the doc, which I virtually never do. It was sweeping through South Wales at the end of Jan early Feb, and some friends were getting it earlier. Anecdotally, 175,000 people flew out of Wuhan at the start of Jan.

C’mon pumpky. Don’t you have any friends or relatives with underlying health issues? Maybe that you don’t even know about? You’d be happy to take the risk that you might infect them?

We are part of the fifth pillar. The companies involved come from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. So, a clear political construct to bind the devolved nations and regions together at this time. The major risk is that someone else devises a quick, reliable test before we do. The reason I believe this risk is lower than you might think is because of the political nature of this endeavour, and the clear aim to construct a UK based large scale diagnostic industry. Not just for now, but in perpetuity as a key protective measure to mitigate against a different outbreak causing such disruption ever again.

The reality is that our Government, along with many others, are inflicting untold economic harm by locking down to address this pandemic. Is lockdown really necessary? Who knows? What is th3 exit strategy? Who knows? If they simply say the lockdown is over that is tantamount to admitting it was pointless to start with. An antibody test is a face saving exit strategy. Who cares if it costs them a few billion? They spend £15bil a year on foreign aid, at least half of it wasted. I’m not a medic, but I have worked closely with Cabinet Ministers. Trust me, they’ll be more than happy to throw our money at a solution.

I don’t know where the sp will go on Monday. And I don’t care. When the design freeze is announced it will be irrelevant.

Ytrewq1212, the work programme is in several discrete phases. They need to design a test that is accurate enough. They then need to optimise the design for potential accelerated scale-up to manufacturing of the COVID-19 Rapid Test. When they agree they have done sufficient optimisation, bearing in mind diminishing returns in going for perfection, they will ‘freeze’ the design, then start manufacturing it. It is frozen so that all the partners will be producing identical products. If it is regarded as sufficiently cheap and efficient, I imagine they will be able to licence the design to manufactories across the globe.

The pressure from the Government to announce design freeze ASAP must be getting intense. There has to be a very good chance it will come next week.
